My company has standardized on Dell Latitude computers. We have about 20 laptops of recent vintage. Mostly E7470 and E7480, but some E5270. In the last quarter I replaced 3 swollen batteries. One computer was almost destroyed because of the swollen battery. $300 to repair it. Today, after noticing my computer with a swollen battery, I polled the company and I have 3 more laptops all with defective batteries. Of course the battery warranty is 1 year. I understand that, but the batteries should not self destruct after the warranty expires. These batteries are dangerous and it is only after careful inspection that I noticed the bulging keyboard/mousepad and the bottom cover. My employees are working from home. I hate to think what could happen.Dell's suppler should be taken to task by dell and Dell should at least offer discounted batteries to their customers. These batteries are $120 each. Quite an expense for a part that was defective to begin with. Check you batteries before you have an explosion.
Horrible experience with customer service. They keeps on saying same thing to do even when we say that's not working for us. Different people will come and chat with you in the middle of the issue and tell you the same thing. We had sent our laptop to service center two times in span of one month. Chat with support doesn't have any information related to service or what's happened to laptop or what service they had provided or when will the service going to complete ..they simply put "message that we have escalated the issue " with out having any related information ..after we received laptop from service also they say we are discussing with the concerned team ..they lack any information related to service..
When I purchased my Dell, I was able to order with no issue and spoke to someone that spoke American English.I was issued a credit of $90 from Dell for an issue they caused and it has been a headache talking to people overseas that can barely speak English.I opened my Dell Credit Line because I was interested in the Dell Rewards. With all other companies, as soon as you open an account you are enrolled in their rewards program. I placed my order and when I got my first invoice I "enrolled" in Dell Rewards. Since I did not "enroll" at the beginning, I was not given my Dell Rewards.I could have just paid with another credit card that offers me rewards. When I explain that to Dell Financial Services they take no responsibility and say that they can choose how they want to do their programs.I will be paying my credit line in full and closing this account. Please get people in the states to assist. It sounds awful when I don't understand and it is staticky on the phone. It sounds like I'm going to the Quicky Mart around the corner.I will never purchase Dell again.
Dell Inspiron 11 3000 - As soon as I received it, it was problematic. It's so slow that some days I can't get any work done at all. Most of the time I can't watch videos and if I do, it has to be on low resolution to the point where I can't see basic details. It crashes all the time, at random my laptop just goes blank and if I didn't save my work, I lose all of it. When I contacted them they said I should have a white key code sticker on the bottom of the laptop but it doesn't. The reps told me it isn't normal and questioned where I purchased it. I got it from their official website. The bottom four corners had pieces that were glued with cheap slimey glue that slipped off, you can tell that the pieces were meant to be screwed in rather than glued on. They told me I would have to pay if the the beeping noise of the PC persists but offered to change my mother board for free once because my warrantee had expired. I waited a month or so, finally when he came the tech guy forgot the usb to add windows onto the new motherboard. He told me I wouldn't be able to use my PC, until a usb is mailed to me and I would need to install windows myself. He told me it could take weeks or months to receive and gave me the option to switch back to my original faulty motherboard. He said he also wasn't sure how many weeks or months it would take for them to reschedule another attempt to change the motherboard if I chose this option. I politely told him I couldn't be without a PC during the holidays because I have an important work deadline. He was angry and snapped for a moment then collected himself, I was already feeling uncomfortable and unsafe due to other behaviours of his and went out of my way to be very nice so he wouldn't get more angry. He reinstalled my original motherboard so I could have a PC to work on. Dell staff kindly reached out to me many times but I don't l feel comfortable with their tech support team in my home. The upgrade was only going to fix the LOUD beeping alarm like sound when I turn the laptop on but it wouldn't have addressed, the crashing every few minutes and how long it takes to start the laptop. The reps are very nice and patient. I read the bad reviews but desperately needed a new laptop, so it's entirely my fault. I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase this laptop.
Completely and utterly baffled by Dell Technical Support’s responses:As Technical Support were edging closer to a solution to the third of three problems with my under-warranty Inspiron laptop, they suddenly declared that my PC was fine. If the doctor refuses to acknowledge you have any symptoms it is a dire situation. After a lot of research, on the problem of the intermittent very loud whooshing sound from the fan, which Dell decided suddenly did not exist, I found a solution.I offered them a constructive suggestion when I got back in touch with them but the situation was even more condemning. I have created a webpage to try and alert others to what I think is best described as dysfunctional. dell-pc-truth-denial.gaThe laptop itself works fine now, actually in spite of Dell, but it would fill me with dread to think I had to deal with their Technical Support again.
I purchased a laptop through their website and paid through UPI PayTM in India. The money got deducted from my account instantly but I never received an order confirmation. Since then I have been calling their customer service team everyday only to be told that it would be resolved in 24 hours. It has now been almost 2 weeks and there is no response or ownership of this issue at their end. I am contemplating going to the police to lodge a complaint as this is fraudulent behaviour. Dell customer care team is hardly bothered. My honest advice would be to avoid any purchase if you don't want to lose your hard earned money.
I own a Dell Inspiron which has served my basic computer needs. It has slowed down over the 3 years so I thought I would add some RAMs. Bought a memory pack from Dell. Immediately realized I would not be able to update because I have lost the administrator password. Within 10 minutes, I went back to cancel my order but the site would not accept my cancelation. After several attempts, I contacted the help chat and was informed that it was too late to cancel because by that time (25minutes after my order and 15 minutes of trying to cancel), the order is beyond "pending."!!! I can return it (eventhough the unit has not left) for a return fee + shipping! What a lousy cheap unethical company!!! I persisted. Called the sales line, and after holding for 32 minutes, finally got through. The poor rep really heard from me. I give her credit for reversing my order. Well, we will see if I get a full refund in 48 hours. Will never ever buy a Dell again.
I bought two dell computers a year ago and as soon as we received them, they were trouble. Neither one worked properly. Both kept crashing, neither would update or take forever to update. Finally my husbands shut down and would not start up or just gave a blue screen. I took my husband’s in for repair because I bought the extended warranty and spent hours on the phone with a dell tech and they could never help get it running again. So the local repairman told me this evening that he got it running but it was not new hardware, some of it was older operating system hardware. When I bought the computer it said it was NEW. But I learned tonight it was actually not new but refurbished but advertised as new. Now on to my computer. Similar problems. Advertised as new, but never would update and continues to tell me that their are disk, drive, storage, memory, update problems and the list goes on. Crashes and every once in awhile I get a pop up about windows 7. Supposed to have had windows 10 installed when I purchased ( supposed to have been new). It too I’m sure is a refurbished piece of trash. I will Never buy from Dell again. The local repairman said it would cost more to repair it than buy new. Dell - if you read these reviews- I want my money back! Plus the cost of Excedrin for all the headaches your computers have caused.
I will never do business with Dell ever again. The customer service is beyond horrible, the sheer lack of professionalism and interest by all of the phone reps is mind blowing. Not to mention there is no US based customer service, everything is outsourced overseas.I order a desktop that took almost a month to arrive and out of the box it was defective. I called customer service only to be hung up on 3 times before I finally decided that it isn't worth the hassle and I will just return it.I was given an email confirmation that the return pickup was scheduled with tracking numbers only to find out that FedEx has no record of this information at all. I guess Dell reps just pull numbers out of their butts after leaving you on eternal hold.I called about it again today to be told that I need to drop them off at FedEx, yeah that ain't happening.
