Bait and switch tech support

My less than one year old laptop computer woukd not start up. I called Dell tech-support and they walked me through finding an error code and then said I had to purchase a service call in order to get someone to help me further. The customer service person told me that if I purchased it someone would call me between 9 and 11 PM that evening. I am when I did purchase the service call appointment I again scheduled it for 10 PM that evening. Needless to say no one called me. The next day I called Dell customer service and they said I had to follow the links on the email they sent me. Those links were basically self service instructions. Not what I paid for at all. The guy was completely reading a script and would not help me at all after I told him that is not what I purchased. I purchased help from a human being. All he could do was read the script over and over and over like talking to a robot. I will never buy another Dell or call Dell service again. I told the guy on the phone I wanted my techService canceled which he did not respond to so I went ahead and filed a protest with my credit card company. Good luck to me

Hopeless

Dell customer support is just hopeless. I bought a complete computer and second monitor six months ago, and for the most part it has been fine, but the keyboard is now giving problems, (and the letters are wearing off the keys too). Online help is just some AI automated system that doesn't work very well and in the end told me to phone. Phoning only got me to someone who couldn't understand English, (we had difficulty getting past my name, neither first nor last of which are uncommon in the UK), and it just got worse from there. I tried phoning again, and got a different voice, on a poor quality phone line, and no better command of English. In the end I just gave up; my time is valuable to me, so in the end I just went and bought another (non-Dell) keyboard. My advice is to go elsewhere, don't buy Dell. Or if you do, do it knowing that in practice there is no real warranty or back-up of any sort.

I will never use Dell ever again

I will never use Dell ever again. I am disgusted. I bought a PC and monitor then after receiving the PC 9 days later I phoned to check on the monitor abd was told the monitor would not arrive for another 'about' another 6 WEEKS! I can't use my PC! When I eventually tracked down the phone number (A JOB IN ITSELF) I phoned I asked for a refund for the monitor... It took 20 minutes and my loosing my cool before the person who did not seem to understand English finally conceded and said I would receive. Then I made the mistake of asking for some advice about buying an alternative monitor... I was transferred a disinterested man who put me on hold and after waiting 40 minutes the line went dead. I wish I had bought from somewhere else. Dell used to be a decent firm. NEVER AGAIN!

charged twice / poor customer service

I was somehow charged twice for a laptop hours a part. I called when I had an alert on my phone at 1:30 in the morning that my account was negative . Dell was closed so I called at 9am when they opened. The first representative I spoke to at DELL tried to blame it on my bank... then I told him “so your telling me my bank signed into my account at 1:30am & ordered me a laptop” It was h*** trying to get my mondy back they hung up on me ALOT. Thankfully my bank said not to worry & don’t contact DELL anymore. I will NEVER order another laptop again from this company I later found out it was a glitch in there system & that it happens sometimes... hard pass they lost a customer for life !!
