LastPass was very useful for some years. However, now I am caught in a maelstrom of problems. It rarely suggests passwords on the fly. It doesn't seem to save the passwords I generate. Too often, I repeatedly had to use the "Don't remember password" function. I am considering taking the trouble to switch to another password manager.
I’ve been with LastPass since about 2010. It’s the only password manager I’ve ever had. I’m going to have to leave now, though. Trying to log in on the Android app, browser extension, or the browser vault is a huge chore. I noticed recently on the browser extension that they added the ability to send me SMS texts to receive a code. This tells me two things: first, the obvious, is that you know that the extension is having difficulty working, so you added this functionality. Second, I’m paying LastPass for a service to provide a passwordless experience, authentications, and other such items, yet you need to text me a code via SMS to get into things. It doesn’t even make sense.I’ve spent six months trying to fix this garbage. I’ve had the same master password the entire time, yet I type it in multiple times and it tells me it’s the wrong password. If I get past that problem, the authentication for the browser extension is the next issue. Sometimes it gives me the passwordless option, which I have to go to the LP android authentication app. Most of the time, this doesn’t work. If I hit accept in the android authentication app, it just asks me to give my email and master password to sign in on the browser extension. Lather, rinse, repeat. Okay, I’ll try using the LP authentication app. Every time it’s the wrong code. I break down and have to ask for SMS over and over. I’ve reinstalled everything LastPass so many times I’ve lost count. I’ve turned passwordless options on and off. I’ve turned the multifactor thing on and off. I’ve done everything I know how to do and I know how to do a lot. Customer support is non-existent. Six hours ago I thought I’d try to upload some photos to get identification of five or so flowers. I haven’t done that yet because I’ve spent the last six hours trying to fix LP. I received access to my vault via browser just once briefly so I tried to export my passwords. It was almost impossible to complete this task, but I finally succeeded. Did it download an Excel csv file? No. It opened my passwords in plain text on in a browser tab. Oh my god. What?I could write about how horrible LP is for the next six hours, but I won’t. Just don’t. Your stress levels will thank you.
Been with LastPass for four years. I've always loved the service, the UI is top notch, very intuitive, very few issues. However, I had a problem with my account renewing under the Business license after I had removed my card from file. I was going to let it lapse, then re-subscribe under a Premium license. The renewal surprised me, and I reached out to support for correction. The initial request was smooth, I was promised a refund, no problem. Following that, it's a been a nightmare. Communication has been godawful, like pulling teeth. When I do get a response, the support reps are dismissive and, in one case, downright combative. After an exchange today wherein a rep told me to reply to the do-not-reply address for a faster response, I'm done with them. I don't know what changed internally at LastPass, but they are not the glowing standard of service and security they once were. Moving to BitWarden per others' suggestions.
2nd year in row when despite I have turner off auto renew they charged my account again, I have deleted it from all of my device already 2 years ago. Toke me half a days to get back to my account just to turn off auto renew again. I don't trust this company, I'll call my CC company to revers the charge as I have no use for the service and I would not trust them with my passwords'Never liked their integration and the login process from the beginning, I just simply stuck with them and the service keep renewing year after year, garbage...
A password manager that is harder to log into than using your own password. When it locks you out, you get it to send you a reset code and it will tell you it is wrong, then their site just gives an error code. On top of this is gets confused if websites have multiple or similar logins and it causes bugs where it crashes certain websites by getting stuck in an endless loop. I have used this software for many years, every year I hate it more.
Within just 1 hour of creating my account, I encountered login issues. It turned out that LastPass had signed me up with a misspelled email address — an address I 100% did 'NOT' provide. After wasting over an hour on their useless chatbot (no help at all) and enduring a phone call lasting more than 35 minutes, I managed to log in with the incorrect email. But then I couldn’t update my email in the user settings. I then had to delete my uploaded .csv file of passwords because the required verification email was still being sent to the wrong address, and no way of correcting this!I requested to have my account and all personal data deleted — yet the process was a complete farce. They continued emailing the incorrect address even after the deletion request.A very close call, but thankfully I won’t be trusting this company with anything going forward.Lesson learnt: I should have read reviews first before wasting time on this utter rubbish.
