I'm a geek, not denying that and I really love the xbox and the fantastic service behind it.The newest dashboard has been a bit confusing for some, but the extra features it brings out way the niggles it may cause. The xbox live service is the best, I think in my 10 years of using it, I may have had 3 times where I experienced live issues (the biggest one where the hackers decided to DDOS all the console systems) - I can't ask for a better service. The Xbox windows App is great - I can stream game play to my laptop screen. The mobile app updates quickly with stats, the messages come in very quick and its very easy to reply to stuff on the move. The console is great, fast boot times, and quick game loads, the fact i can plug in external hard drives to extend my storage is another lovely feature.I remember saying that I dont think they could ever make a better controller than the Xbox 360 as that was a dream..they did with the standard xbox one controller (not even going to review the elite contoller).I just think Microsoft have listened to the fans, and added features and functionality that we wanted and it looks like its only going to get better. My first (proper) console was made by Sony, so I am no specific console fan. The combination of the Xbox and live service cannot currently be beaten.
I tried to ask xbox support for help with migrating my xbox 360 account, because I got a nondescript error. The explanation I got was that I had recently migrated my account to Norway, which was not true. I had bought something on the Norwegian xbox.com store which in my mind does not equal a migration because I can change store country as I wish - with no 90 day blocker, but apparently this is a migration. My question was - how can there be a 90 days block periode, when just adding another country on xbox.com can be done at will. I spoke with a few consultants about this until they gave up and sent me to "Manager Ellen" who gave me the same old song and dance - and then, because the jig was up and her incompetence was exposed, she kicked me of the chat, resulting in me not having my problem solved. Please do not support this company if you rely on competent customer service. They do like your money though.
Came through to Ruth Q on Live Chat - who was extremely helpful and polite, knew exactly what she was doing and came back to me with confident solid answers to which I believe have helped advise me on the situation and being an avid gamer this is something I appreciate as I know what to expect and the results to come :) Ruth was also able to have a conversation with me as well, so I didn't feel as if she was scripting answers, which just adds to the customer service feel, so 5/5 from me!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------This was my original response to her service, until I realised what she had said was a basic lie, nothing which I was told came through.I'd rescind the review but I feel once I've posted it I should leave it hence my edit here.
They will charge you through the nose for add ons that should have been inculded in the game in the first place. Customer support is almost impossible to contact and if you do you'll either be waiting days for a reply or kept on hold for ages to finally talk to a foreign call agent that struggles to understand what your saying and vice versa. Plus if you didnt know, most xbox one games are a huge size and for some reason when you install a game disc (which is compulsary btw) it still downloads the info from the net. Which has been upto 60gb in my personal experience. JUST THINK, You buy your kids an xbox one for xmas and even if you set it up straight away you'll be lucky to be actually playing it by boxing day. As for full games like call of duty or halo it'll probably be more like the evening of the 27th if like me. This company is consumed by pure GREED. They fail to tell you any of this even if you actually read the reams and reams of terms and conditions that basically state that they can do anything that they want and you cannot.Im about done with this company along with all other 'too big for their boots' companies, until the leveler that civilisation seems to need appears 😉
I have spent thousands of pounds on Xbox products and all of a sudden it stops working for no reason. I now have a heap of products that will go in the bin. I have spoken to many multiple advisors and requested callbacks (which never called) to finally get to the conclusion that Microsoft either can not or will not fix my console or threaten to ban me if I repair it myself. Considering the PS4 outsold the Xbox one so drastically I'm surprised that they are so willingly send business their way. That's what I get for being a customer for 10+ years and buying a day one edition bundle. Never again
