Non existent “customer support” , animal rights violation

I started using calm, based on the nature based meditations and sleep stories, but it seemed like they care more about quantity than quality and the app is terribly bloated, cumbersome to use with constant crashing created by developers who have no concern for performance and usability. Worst of all, agree with other posters that the company seems to have the wrong attitude especially for a wellness / meditation app. The “customer service” is practically non-existent, condescending and useless!! No one cares about your issue or complaint on anything. I reported a sleep story where elephants are made to work, taking tourists around on a safari, even though the story claims they did them a favor by not riding on them (!) but mind you, still made to work for tourists and taken away from the wild and their families and herd to be our guides!This is just promoting exploitation of wild animals, which are already having enough issues in their struggle to survive! If not curbed, who knows they might have a animal circus story next! This is horrendous for a wellness app or anywhere! Inspite of reporting, they didn’t even bother to take such content down and the “customer support” was condescending in his tone when followed up on action and clarified!! Will definitely be taking this up further with animal rights organizations as they haven’t removed that content! These people should not be in the meditation business, which is so unlike headspace app and their culture, who model what they’re about! The whole app and set up feels much worse now with their horrible attitude! Most of their “stuff” isn’t good quality material and many of their narrators should not be narrators for sleep stories or meditation. This is the best example of what happens when meditation is taken over by business! This seems to create more despair than calm!

Trying to get rid of Calm app

Trying to get rid of Calm app. No way to contact them. Cancellation method they offer stalls. So much for stress relief

Calm a big time fraudster and worst…

Calm a big time fraudster and worst customer service, they charged me for 1 year subscription after the trial and there is no option to cancel it in between. One is stuck up paying full amount. Apple Store is also hand in glove with such fraudsters in promoting such Apps.

I love Calm

I love Calm. It has a huge range of meditations, lessons, music and sleep stories. My two main uses: getting to sleep (I've never heard the end of one of their sleep stories); and clearing my head during a stressful day.The meditations are thoughtful, easy to do and really, really effective. I recommend it to anyone, whether or not you're familiar with meditation.

Might be right for some - but not for me!

This is the worst of the new age, touchy-feely, caring and sharing BS. I was looking for some meditation and breathing exercises for dealing with my cancer treatments. I don't need some annoying, breathy, voice-over artist reading me bedtime stories about appreciating my self-worth. And if this isn't enough to send your blood pressure through the roof, the website itself is just awful! I clicked on one of the background sounds just to see what it was like. You can't turn it off - even if you exit the app!!! I had to do a Google search just to find the arcane way to shut the damn thing up. (Select one of the "quiet" sounds. Go to Settings and turn off the out of app option.) When I went to cancel (I had a year gift subscription from my cancer treatment provider), guess what - you can't! I actually had to contact someone in Customer Service to cancel. And even that wasn't easy Not happy. Certainly, not calm...

The only reason it is called the clam…

The only reason it is called the clam app is becuase it "trys" to keep you clam after getting scamed. Like you can listen to nearly the same stuff on youtube and the fact that it is 300 bucks for a liftime is a joke DO NOT USE.

Nothing calming about Calm!

There is nothing on this app that was helpful or calming. I was hoping for nice music or the sound of rain, like their ads. Couldn't find it. The stories were lame. When I tried to cancel, it was so difficult. In fact, I couldn't cancel. All I did was ask it to renew to a credit card that is cancelled.

It wasn't really what I was looking for, went to cancel my subscription and was debited $70.

Customer service is bad

Customer service is bad. They don’t respond to your concern. I wanted to cancel my service just a couple days I was charged and have it refunded. Now it’s been almost a month not hearing from Them and I have no choice but to use it.

All about money, not mental health

Do not let this company pretend they have 'mindfulness', or mental health of thier users anywhere near their top priorities. Aggressive subscription policy, deliberately arcane refund policy.Unable to speak to contact support on mobile. Unable to submit support tickets on any web browser other than Chrome, and even then, insanely convoluted system.
