Do not purchase or take a trial on this…

Do not purchase or take a trial on this app. They are unethical and lie about the 14 day free trial. The moment you want to access the trial, they ask for your bank details, to activate after the trial, but they take your funds immediately and their customer care is non existence and the content on the app is also a waste of money.

Avoid! Unless you have £40 to burn

Abysmal experinence. The app is hard to use, customer service is non existent. I emailed to get a refund because I thought I had already canceled my trial but the subscription amount came out anyway. Sure this could have been my error, but I don't expect to go a week without a response. I'll be initiating a charge back which I don't like to resort to. The cancellation process is also very difficult. There are better apps out there.

I signed up for Calm last night then…

I signed up for Calm last night then had a lot of trouble getting on the site. To get the 1 week free trial you have to give your credit card. I will never fall for that Scam again. Since I couldn’t get on the sight I used the (chat), the Only way to communicate and kept getting the same questions which I answered. They forget the free trial and charge my card telling me they will cancel next year!

Have become a referral service, than a listening ear.

I used call calm, but at the latter part of 2024, their policy changed. They no longer really want to listen you and have become more of a referral helpline.I wouldn't recommend them now.

Poor customer service response time

Started the 7 day trial. My cancellation was in the 7th day when the trial ended, but an annual subscription cost was taken from my bank account. I have contacted Calm and asked for a refund, given that I was unable to use the app effectively due to hearing impairment. No response and no refund. Not impressed with the absence of a customer service response after five days.

I've worked with Calm for 3 years

I've worked with Calm for 5 years. They even tried to use me as an ambassador when I was running an office of 60 people and providing meditation to employees. I use Calm to "warm up" for ten minutes and then go to much better platforms. The app and meditation are middling. It is good for beginners, but you will quickly move beyond. Many of their sessions seem to assume you are almost a basket case and aim to help people who are simply rare. People who suffer from debilitating anxieties, depression, self-worth, etc. Yes, they exist, but most of us don't suffer such debilitation and this is not the aim of meditation for most. They love to have celebrity led sessions by people who are not exceptional in leading meditation. Most egregious is their "help." While I always get logged in automatically, my iPhone reset and I had to resend my password. I had lost it. I emailed them and they sent back an email saying they were overwhelmed with requests but would get back to me. I'm 6 days and waiting. Got another email saying I was in-line but they were still working on it. They are quick to take your money and their help is AI or nothing. There are much better sessions, and you can go to YouTube and find many for free. This app is like getting on the Bunny Slope at a ski resort. Yes, it is fine for the first days. But you are better served to move up in the world. Meditation is a wonderful addition to any life. But you will never get to a better level if you use Calm. Too bad their subscription is a year long. You really grow out of them in around a month or so. As you will see from the other comments, they specialize in disallowing cancelation and you are automatically renewed no matter what. Getting that taken care of seems close to impossible. It is almost as if they may have six people working for them. 4 are in sales, one is Tamara, 1 uploads stuff, and none work in customer service. It is all AI. They are one of the leading money makers in this area and they simply refuse to use their money to help, or respect, their customers. T***** should be ashamed of herself as she prattles on like she cares.

I do not recommend

I do not recommend. It’s should be free and it’s not. Very crappy specially when it’s needed after a pandemic. Mental health should not depend on payment. Funny they are so great yet they don’t let you leave a review on the main page or App Store. Seems beneficial and a scam to me. They suck!

It could be great but it’s definitely not. The content is fine, good even, but it’s almost impossible to navigate, and the interface changes with alarming frequency. It’s supposed to be calming anxiety and instead gives me more in trying to find anything as well as the constant ‘refer a friend’ or ‘give a gift’. Making money is clearly their game, and paying fees to Celebs for their readings, which most seem to forget are sleep stories and not auditions, Stephen Fry is an exception.

Poorly designed site to the point of…

Poorly designed site to the point of unusable. Tried Guided Meditation series, great narrator says after intro just press play to continue to next video, except there is nothing to press and the app ALWAYS takes you to a page to refer friends. Impossible to find "next" video as it is like a library with no organization or semblance of order. Caused me MORE stress, less calm...
