Review Time
Gumroad's support is fantastic, contrary to what I read on here. I had so many issues due to my own odd set-up (such as not charging customers for a couple of months and then restarting), and Steve and Earnest were extremely helpful with all my unusual requests. They even agreed to reinstate customers manually. I really felt like they went above and beyond. Even though I was doing things that were beyond the capabilities of the software, they tried to figure it out with me so that we could make it happen for our customers. I was so impressed and grateful to them both.
Absolutely disgusting platform. They are thieves. In their rules, I need to reach 10$ for withdrawal. I did it. They reviewing my account for more than 2 weeks. And now I've got the answer from the support. I need to make more sells for to have my money!!! WTH?!! I'll never use this platform anymore.
----- UPDATE -----So after about four weeks of not being paid, gumroad finally managed to verify my identity despite me sending a multitude of documents over the course of these weeks. Apparently it was due to a third party called Stripe that was rejecting my documents? I think I sent about 8-10 documents (bills, license, passport, healthcare card, bank statements) before they finally verified me. Overall it was a stressful and lengthy experience, but I'm glad I finally got paid and should be good to continue getting paid in future now this is all sorted out.----- END OF UPDATE ----Haven't been paid since I set the account up. Everything is approved. I have not been told my bank details aren't working if that was the case, they have not told me anything, just continued not to pay me with no explanation.When I contacted support they gave me a general answer as though they haven't even looked into my case, "Accounts will be in review for weeks" okay but my account has been OUT of review for two weeks now and I still haven't been paid.If I manage to finally get paid, I will update this review. But currently, as my experience stands, it is 1 star.
It's an amazing company. But the support is horrible. I mean apparently there are only one guy there, and he is so rude. When you write to support you hope recieve help instead of being treated as an idiot. I didnt believe the reviews here because I was so excited with Gumroad. But when you have a problem and you need to write to the support, the horror begins. It's incredible that they work with a Print on demand company and you can't have lists with color and seizes ,and when you ask for that, the man says that you need to use CSS and you didnt read the things properly. And when you dont get what he is saying and you try to post on the facebook group, this man (who seems to be more important than the CEO) blocks your post and sents you messages at night telling you that you only can speak with him if you have a problem with his answers. The CEO seems to be really cool and some people too. But if you are not good at programming and you don't want to be treated like a second category citizen, I would recommend another option.

This bunch of Californian hipsters probably spend more time acting cool and checking their iPhones than taking care of customers.I purchased a digital book via them but I didn’t receive a download link. I contacted them through PayPal (and via my own email) to find out what had happened. My contact via Paypal opened a dispute.3 days later I got a direct response saying to check my Junk folder. Nothing in there so I asked for another link. I received a link but it didn’t work.I was told the link wouldn’t work until I dropped the PayPal dispute. This is how disputes work they told me (total BS). I challenged this and eventually I asked for a refund. Again, no refund until I drop the case.Obviously, if I drop the case I cannot open it again if Gumroad fail to refund.And that’s how it stayed until it went to resolution, no goods or refund until I drop the case. Not once did Gumroad reply to the PayPal dispute. Totally unprofessional. PayPal quickly found in my favour and refunded me promptly, I’m guessing this isn’t the first time these jokers have tried this.Recommend Gumroad? Dream on…PS. So many disputes to deal with...I wonder why?"To be sure, customers issue disputes against us in PayPal all the time. We ask them to cancel their disputes all the time. When they do, we refund them or get them download links."
I have started using Gumroad more than a year or two ago and it has been a breeze to sell my files that are too large for Etsy - Etsy limits file uploads to 2MB (which is fine for single digital products), but Gumroad has allowed me to upload files that are much larger, so I could bundle my products together.Once I started making sales, my account was in review for a little while, which is normal. But I have contacted them about how long it will still take, etc. and I have received an email in return quite fast and they've sent a proper response. My account was approved to receive payments soon after.Their support and email responses have always been good and fast, so I'm happy about that.One thing I don't really agree with is how the marketplace (Discover) works: to get your items listed in Discover, you need to have at least made sales of the product (which I have) and have at least one rating on the product (which I don't have, unfortunately). Most people, I have found throughout my years of experience of selling digital products, don't leave reviews - especially if they are satisfied with a product. Nonetheless, I'm sure someone will leave a review on one of my products someday... I'm not really depending on Discover that much, because I drive my own traffic to my Gumroad listings, but it's a bonus to have.Anyways, I still love Gumroad and plan to stay with them for a while longer, because its so easy to use and I like all the features, analytics and prompt payments.
I’ve recently started to use Gumroad and was delighted to find one place that met all of my needs eg website, email collection, email autoresponder, shopping cart, blog and online store. I can’t believe how inexpensive and affordable it is - I definitely think it’s the cheapest online for what it offers. And the usability is really easy and simple too. Also the domain set up was easier than normal as they find your site and link it on their end . Also really happy that they deal with all the email laws and regulations. Customer service is great and I normally get an answer within a day. I also like the explanations on the site - it sounds human and not like a company like Fb where they really don’t care about you, and you can’t get hold of anyone if you have a problem. As someone buying from the site, the process is super fast and easy. The only feedback I have is to improve the look and layout of the post page and make it easier for people to skim over the different posts or find the ones that they are interested in rather than scroll through each full post. But I think this is a fairly new feature and hopefully they will improve it. All in all, I highly recommend Gumroad.
Hi there Gumroadi know that you are going to be reading this but after reading these reviews, i do not think i would be uploading my content for sale on your site. i created an account and everything but after reading that almost everyone didnt get their sale or payout FOR ALL THE SAME REASONS seems abit suspicious to me. Please address your customer service because many are complaining that they were rude. only 5 out of 38 reviews says your site is great but how is it that 33 people have "detected fraudulent" sales and money laundering? its no from me sorry.
