I sell my product on many platforms such as CGtrader, unity and Unreal marketplace. The following happened in the Gumraod store: one person bought from me 10 goods for about $ 200, after which within a month he returned 8 of them without explanation and without my permission. After that, the Gumroad administration blocked my account without trial, accused me of fraud, and now also of money laundering. I am an honest person, I pay taxes in my country, I have never been involved in money laundering, and these unfounded accusations are strange to me. I also looked at the reddit topics on the gumroad and you know what? - I'm not the only one, many people write that they were also lied to, that one or two returns of your goods mean blocking your store and returning all funds to customers. Gumroads are essentially fraudsters themselves, instead of investigating the situation with the support service, they immediately blame and expose honest people as criminals, and then appropriate honestly earned money.edit 13.11.2019Here is a quote from the pay-pal return statement: "This user was using PayPal and Gumroad to launder money. In NORMAL stores like Unreal or Unity, there are also cases where fraudsters steal cards and make purchases, but there the issue of return is calm, no one blames the author and does not block accounts. Do you think that I would not return the money? Have you tried just to write me an explanation of the situation? No, you just immediately started to push, blame and lie, moreover you are not just asking for a refund of 10 purchases, you also want $ 65 already in July .. why? Again they didn’t bother to explain anything, they simply wrote that I was a thief and laundered money. As a result, it turns out that the real criminal received a bunch of my goods for free, you returned the money ($ 65) to honest customers, and they deprived me of the account and lied. They suspended my accounts a second time after reactivating it.First they suspended my account, I've contacted them, they said it was a mistake, so they reactivated it, but all my money collected until that were gone, they said that the users got the refunds and I had to deal with the loses. I though ok, mistake happens, but after a few weeks they suspended my account again, later I found out they didn't refund my users, and they kept their subscriptions active, because I got emails that some users canceled their subscriptions manually, this is how I know. And also I told one users that he should get the refund soon, but he never did, when he opened a PayPal dispute, they asked my to pay for that, but that transaction should have been refunded in the first place.Also, their customer support is the worst I had to deal with, and I dealt with a lot of bad customer support, but the gumroad one is on a whole new level, from responding after 3 days, to name-calling, to false accusations about our business and so on.
Company run by immature kids. Their app has 2 out of 5 ratings. Cheryl "support manager" was as useful as a broken toaster. Only canned responses are sent. There is no technical talent working here, and it's obvious the owner is on serious introverted burnout. Don't bother asking for the owner, he's hiding in a basement somewhere working on his novel and pretending everything is fine. With the company disappointing so many investors and laying off all the friends they hired (instead of hiring IT talent), you would think the owner would have a better handle on things. The company will continue to fail because they want to have a party full of friends pretending to work instead of actually working. I had a solid business venture that could take Gumroad in a new direction and 20 years experience in high end systems that would make Gumroad a killing, but these kids are too immature to listen to anyone else's points of view but their own. They are in over their heads, and it painfully and blatantly shows.
