Absolutely the worst service I've ever used in my life!. I've been with Paypal over 20 years. Recently took out a loan from Loanbuilder which has been great for me. I paid back every month no issues. They actually just offered me another loan because I've been such in good standing. Now Paypal Braintree is another animal and they are absolutely ridiculous with their ways of handling their customers which is us the Merchant not the BUYERS. Their service is SET UP TO HELP FRAUD PURCHASES...I had a $17,000 Sale come on my website. I called them three days later (since they did not send me THE NORMAL email saying that it was potentially fraudulent AND DONT SHIP which they normally did previously.). Because it was such a large purchase I asked the rep if there was anything fishy as the BILLING & SHIPPING ADDRESS WERE DIFFERENT. She (The Phone Rep) was rather rude, and gave me no information whatsoever about the potential charges of the card or if it was any way something I should worry about. She was very vague, and told me the money would be arriving in three days. When the money arrives I went and ordered the item for my client, and shipped it out to him with tracking number (signature required.) A month later Paypal Braintree sent me a chargeback saying that it was fraud. Then tell me I need to pay them all of the money or they're going to close my account and send it to collections.I am now using Stripe which does not let this happen whatsoever. I sale like that does not even go through Stripe, and they also have an app where you can actually see the attempts being made and AMOUNTS THEY ARE ATTEMPTING. Paypal Braintree HAS NO SUCH SUPPORT LET ALONE AN APP!! They tell you everything after a chargeback comes in! Braintree is a branch off Paypal which I loved using before getting allowing Braintree to PROCESS MY WEBSITE SALES. They are a company that cares less about us the merchant. They want our money and give us no support whatsoever. After the POTENTIAL charge back came in THEN the rep went inside of the back en, and told me that the client had tried to use that card before, looks pretty FISHY, and that I would be 100% responsible if it turns out to be fraud!!!!!!! Which it did. Within the last Paypal Loanbuilder CALLED ME AND offered me another loan. They was sending me the money then for new loan and Paypal Braintree blocked it because they send the money to my PayPal account which BRAINTREE now has limited until I pay them back in full. They make you sign ironclad agreements when you sign up with them, and then give you absolutely no support!!!! Tell me what was I supposed to do hold onto the item for a month? What type of position does that leave us in as the Merchant? Only thing you're telling me is they understand my frustration but that the Merchant is always 100% responsible for fraud. Mind you when they signed up to do my website processing they did not give me 30 seconds of consultation about this. I mean at all!!! We the merchant are supposed to notice. We are supposed to be professionals at fraud. Even though this is what the company is selling us. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! #FredTheJeweler
Braintree stopped disbursements and then took 6 weeks! to email me to tell me that they wouldn't be letting the funds go until I verified my bank account details. All the while I've been taking payments which haven't been making it into my bank account. I've sent these details to them, but got no acknowledgement of receipt. Whenever I speak to them the right department isn't there so I get nowhere - I think they must be west coast USA so need to phone late in the day? The last 2 days I've called them the line is completely dead! Now I'm 000's out of pocket and unable to contact anyone to know where my money is... and if I'll get it back.
I also had some problem with my money. The best idea is just call there to resolve problem. After my 2 calls problem was resolved. It looks like they have a lot of job to answer on email so in my case directly call resolved my issue really fast.
We didn't have a chance to use them, our account application was denied.This is despite having a major bank merchant facility, and a paypal account with almost 2 decades of use and always being in credit, and churning enough to be on concierge level support. Last charge-back on the merchant facility over a decade ago. Cash flush company with no mortgages / debts.I dont know why their system thought we were risky, but its a broken system. We are a company with high moral/ethical standards.
Braintree hasn't faltered for me except with integrations with Xero and Wordpress. I tried to get put a refund through for a customer and the plugin said it did refund, when it didn't, but I think this is the plugins fault and not the braintree payments as I was able to give a refund in the backend of Braintree easily. Everything else seems to work fine. It would be nice to have automatic reconciliation with Xero accounting rather than batch summaries
I echo the thoughts of the previous 5-star reviewer. We have worked with Braintree for 3 years, as a small company, and have had nothing but a great experience with outstanding support from them. We have been able to easily integrate several applications and have never had any account issues or payment problems. Likewise, I genuinely do not understand all of these negative reviews. They seem grossly unfair! We've used Stripe before and while Stripe is also great, it has certain limitations which Braintree offers a solution for, hence why we switched.
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THEM. We had been using BT for a few years without problems, we then had some low level attempts at fraud occur on one of our website. BT stopped transactions on both BT and Paypal on that site without contacting us and will now not correspond with us. They even stopped settlements on payments on our other sites which weren't experiencing fraud. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THEM.
I do not understand these reviews.We've been using Braintree for years, and their service has been flawless. Easy to use, prompt disbursements, detailed developer documentation to facilitate integration, and best of all, responsive and competent customer service that answers even complex queries promptly and comprehensively.I really couldn't recommend them more.
