absolute bunch of incompetent morons. Different departments dont speak to one another. The sales guy didnt have a clue what he was on about.Everything he told me on the phone turned out to be impossible with my business model.the mouth breathers decided i was too much of a risk - even after submitting a full business plan, written in plain english. - they clearly didnt read it. some bloke warned me about this lot - i should have listened.do some review reading - it says it all.
We heard a lot of braintree and moved our E-commerce business into Braintree. After 18 months of doing business together we started noticing that braintree have started withholding our funds without prior intimation, inspite of having less than 0.4% Chargeback rates. When we asked why was the fund withheld without prior notice we were told that it is a usual practice which is decided by the underwriters. As a business, how can we manage our cashflow when the payment gateway like Braintree acts in such immature fashion. They are someone who cannot be trusted for their words and commitment. In the skin of underwriters the merchants are treated very poorly as if they have committed crime. We have invested a lot of money into our IT product by moving into Braintree both in the websites and mobile apps. Now we are going to get out of braintree for their highly unreliable service standards.I see all these happening after they got acquired by Paypal.
Braintree have been seen as an innovative alternative payment provider for organisations that don't want to have to go through a bank to setup online payments. They offer great solutions for developers like myself to integrate payment solutions into web applications and the mobile payment options are great. But, that is as far as it goes! I setup an account for a business I am developing for and am given access to use a limited version until the account has been reviewed. After spending a number of hours starting to integrate the solution I then get an email saying they decline our business. Now, don't get me wrong they have a choice to do business with whoever they like and can pick and choose whoever they see fit, but it was the fact this was not very clear at the start. And then I am given no explanation other than a generic page talking about the risks of being a payment provider. The company I am developing for have a £6 million turnover a year, have cash in the bank, plenty of credit accounts with suppliers and have a very low risk score on Experian.Yet, they cannot give me any further information.Complete waste of time. They just need to be transparent and honest about their process from the start and if there was a "careful review" of our application then surely some basic feedback would be possible.Another what appears to be good company bought out by PayPal and going sour like they do.I have since gone to Stripe who are now enjoying our business instead.
