Review Time
I like the app pretty well but it is very frustrating because many of the meditations are spoken by Tamara Levitt and her voice makes my skin crawl. She is the only voice on the whole app I don’t like and she does a lot of them! They should have other people read her meditations so that we have options. I’m not going to resubscribe because of this issue. I’m sorry this sounds mean, but… that’s my honest review.
Unfortunately not for me the people speaking are not very calming which is what I was looking for seem quite formal and no gentle background music when speaking little bit annoying tbh and if you start a new program ie 7 days of each session starts with the same thing its very repetative it's a shame but I'm glad I did the free trial before buying sorry 😞
If I had it to do over again, I would NEVER create an account with Calm.com In my opinion, sleazy business practices. I signed up a year ago, only used the app once or twice, then forgot about it (because I found the content forgettable). Now they billed my Amex for $89.99 for another year - no warning, no email to say, "your membership is scheduled to renew", just a surprise sneaky charge. I immediately cancelled the same day as charged. And now neither they or Amex will refund the charge. If you sign up, be sure to monitor you membership AND your credit card statements!
Have had this app for 3 years now and always found it a really helpful tool to help me sleep. However Calm seem to be changing direction as most of the new sleep stories are now for children. I think that I will consider relinquishing my subscription this year!
It couldnt be easier to open an account. I wanted to try it out....but when it comes to closing it after your trial period another matter entirely!They make it as hard for you as they can in fact I had to ask a granddaughter to stop my account!When trying out a website it should be as easy to stop as to start! not with CALM a disgrace
The content appears to be useful for some people. However, I did not want a subscription and made that clear when I cancelled my trial. My account online says my subscription is expired. YET I was just charged 69.99 for the service. To make this experience just that much worse; there is NO PHONE SUPPORT. They think this is a better way to manage customer service, but they are WRONG. Sometimes phone support is exactly what customers need and want. Thanks for nothing Calm.
I had a free trial a year ago then subscribed at £17.99 for the year...The voice of Tamara is irritating beyond belief. Unsure anyone could sleep through that! Tbh didn't rate the app so wanted to cancel. Having read the reviews I knew I had to get ahead to ensure I didn't pay for another year. I contacted my bank and asked for this to happen...Last week £28.99 was taken from my account by calm. To say I was LIVID is an understatement!!I again contacted my bank.It transpired calm had used another name(Calm.USA)!My bank (Nationwide) immediately refunded my money and blocked Calm!This company is a disgrace, avoid at all costs!Spotify is a wonderful app for sleep, meditation, podcasts along with ANY music you wish to hear!
