Been with Bitdefender for years because the protection levels are good but the whole service is a muddle and not user-friendly at all. Try finding subscription auto renew... took me half a day to find it so that I could cancel future payments from my bank, and then I found I'd been paying twice over for the VPN. Even when you find how to access the well-hidden auto renew options you have to click cancel at several stages before it will actually cancel. They deliberately hide the feature away and make it difficult so that people will give up on it and be forced to make payments by default. I'm an above-average computer user but for others with with less knowledge there is no way that they will be able to find this option. Therefore in my view Bitdefender is unsuitable for those with just average or below average computer skills. I will not be renewing my Bitdefender subscription purely on the grounds that Bitdefender is prejudiced against users with lower levels of computer skills by their making the use of Bitdefender so user-unfriendly and it's options and features so inaccessible and unnecessarily complicated.
Polite and knowledgable customer service. Willing to apply discounts and a product that has kept me safe on the internet for the last eight years.A lot less stressful than my dealings with other internet security providers.I believe that is how it should be. We pay for security for peace of mind and minimal stress. Bitdefender give me that.
I found the identity Package very confusing from the start. I am 70 years old and reasonably astute with computers and I have several certificates in networks and security. However BitDefender was literally raising my blood pressure with all this stuff about this was bad and that was bad for my health. I made the best attempt to fix them, but there were some I had no clue how to fix so I dropped the subscription.
I called them due to their excellent rating in PC Magazine as 2024's Best Antivirus program. Their phone rep was professional - friendly - knowledgeable - helpful. What a delightful change from most customer service reps these days!
Had a good impression of Bitdefender, until now. Decided to change to another provider and cancelled my auto-renewal on my PayPal account. Yet they charged me again for another year ! Trying to get my $$ back and so far they're offering me a discount on a renewal that I don't need or want.After intercession by TrustPilot and PayPal, Bitdefender has now issued a full credit. Shouldn't have to go through all this.
