Review of dreamhost
I have been using Dreamhost for years to host and manage my WordPress websites. I don't recall a time when my website was down or I encountered any difficulty. In the times that I did need support, either technical or billing, I always received quick responses that exceeded my recommendations.

Tried to get my "pre-qualified" credit card, and the process was a nightmare. I am not exaggerating when I say they screwed up at EVERY opportunity. The pre-auth code didn't work. Then they denied it for potential fraud and took TWO WEEKS to tell me that. Then I uploaded documents to prove not fraud. They said it failed (they didn't know why of course) and I would have to go into the local branch. I went into the local branch and they mentioned two more mistakes that had happened. I left, and vowed to never, ever, deal with them again.

Great untill something goes wrong.Broken garden planter arrived. What a faff to return it. Photos show it is only fit for the bin but no it has to be returned. I'll also only get a fraction on what I paid for it back. That's if you can ever tell what you actually paid for anything! Time to do back to AliExpress.
Review of squarespace
Absolutely SHOCKING experience and customer service. I was a Squarespace free user for over 9 months having built out the basics of my website and self-designing all necessary elements for the page. I attempted to login after a couple of months inactivity to update my products page only to find out that my content had been deleted and munched by the, "garbage collector" because i was inactive for 30 days. Over 50+ hours spent on platform building.Over 20+ hours lost learning the CMS. Website gone and thousands of dollars lost. Not even a simple, "Hey we're going to delete your content unless you login" ????? SHOCKING strongly recommend against this service and i refuse to onboard my clients with squarespace. USE WORDPRESS - SAVE YOURSELF THOUSANDS.
Review of hotels
I need since long an invoice with VAT number on. However such number can't be added anywhere in the profile info, and there are NO options what so ever to contact hotels.com (now Experian) to get such info amended. Actually, contacting the platform on any issues is not possible besides a useless chatbot and otherwise endless circling around on the site all creating a really poor UX. Invoices for business trips without proper VAT number are not accepted by our accounting department for tax reasons - hence I have personally to absorb all hotel costs. Going forward, I will not be using this platform as it only causes problems. Book directly with the hotels when doing business trips!
Review of hotels
I used hotels.com to book a business trip and I have not been able to claim back my trip because they refuse to give a VAT receipt and the hotel don't have one either. I'm out of pocket because I used Hotels.com rather than booking direct. DO NOT USE FOR BUSINESS TRIPS!

Review of washingtonpost
I was once a subscriber but let my subscription run out. Really disappointed with Bezos overruling the editorial board and not endorsing Harris in the last presidential election. Democracy dies in darkness indeed .. too bad he doesn't heed his own words!
Review of pixlr
I used this when I worked at my old job. I would've easily given this a 4-5 stars. I haven't used Pixlr for close to a year and forgot to cancel my subscription. Is it my fault? Sure. But I contacted support within hours of my card being charged and support couldn't offer a refund. Any website or store would not hold such policies so strictly.
Review of patreon
I like Patreon, *only* because it allows some of my favourite creators to be supported. However, life was better when YouTube and Ads supported our creators, so I hate the very idea of patreon, but thats not their fault. Having said that, I think they do a pretty good job, but I'm standing at a distance.Anyway, I wanted to review them because it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to cancel a single subscription. I had to go to the membership page 4 times, (after visiting many other pages) because the first 3 times I didn't see the *tiny* piece of text at the bottom right that says "cancel or change your payment" in the smallest font you have ever seen, in the greyest font you have ever seen. How hard are you trying to make it guys? I was 2 minutes away from rage quitting and cancelling my account completely. You almost lost money because I found it hard to cancel a $1 sub. Sort your fecking UX out, and stop trying to use subtle trick to trick users. THEY JUST PIISS US OFF, REALLY BADLY. Do you even know how design a front-end? The "first principle" is to make things easy to find. As easy as possible. A tiny fecking link in a colour that's practically identical to the background colour is utterly terrible. Especially for CRITICAL functionality. You failed epically, and it's very annoying. Your User Experience is shiite, and you should fire your front-end developers and designers for doing a shiite job
Review of macys
I bought two sofas (Virton 87” leather sofa) in December to be delivered December 26. I am still waiting for them. I throw my old furniture in December to make space for my new sofas and I have been seating in the living room in a dinner chairs for months because Macy’s has been sending me delay furniture emails. Today I called customer service to help me find out if I am going to get them or not, talking with the manufacturer and they just told me that they can’t do that. To me this is disrespectful with customers, to relay in the manufacturer company to decide when they want to deliver the furniture if they will do it. Macys customer service is not doing a follow up to customers purchases to make sure they get the things they buy, REMEMBER it is your name the one the people you work with is leaving with a bad experience and bad review not theirs. I WILL NEVER BUY IMPORTANT THINGS LIKE THIS IN MACYS.

Review of capitalone
I opened a Capital One account as the SSA-appointed Representative Payee for my elderly mother. They accepted two months of her Social Security benefits, then suddenly froze the account without any notice.I went to a branch in person talked to the supervisor Catherine with my mother, her passport, and official Social Security documentation confirming my legal status as her payee. Capital One refused to accept the documents and told us it would take “a very long time” to even look into it.Meanwhile, my mother—who relies entirely on these funds to survive—has been left without money for basic living expenses. This is not only inhumane but potentially illegal, as Social Security funds are federally protected.I’m filing complaints with the OCC and CFPB and social security administration. Avoid Capital One if you care about accountability, especially when it comes to caring for vulnerable loved ones.
