"Mercari Robbed Me: Seller Beware – You Could Lose Your Money & Item!"

Title: Mercari Unfairly Withheld My Seller Payout – Beware!As a longtime seller, I trusted Mercari to handle transactions fairly, but my recent experience has been a nightmare. Mercari violated their own policies, reversed my rightful payout after awarding it to me, and issued a return label that didn’t even comply with USPS regulations—all while leaving me with nothing but a $20 reimbursement on a high-value item.Here’s What Happened:✅ I sold a graded collectible card and shipped it securely using a trackable USPS label.✅ The buyer requested a return, and Mercari issued an invalid First-Class Envelope return label, which is not allowed for graded cards per their own policy.✅ Realizing this, I upgraded the label myself at my own cost, provided Mercari the updated tracking number, and they confirmed they updated the system and notified the buyer.✅ The return tracking was never updated within 7 days, meaning per Mercari’s policy, the return should have been canceled, and I should have been awarded the sale.✅ Mercari initially followed their policy, paid me my earnings, but then later reversed the funds without justification and gave my item’s full value back to the buyer.Mercari’s Excuses Don't Add Up:First, they accepted my updated tracking and told me the system was updated.Then, they claimed they only cover $20 for First-Class Envelope shipments—but they were the ones who issued the invalid return label!Lastly, they ignored their own 7-day return tracking policy, which should have finalized the sale in my favor.The Reality for Sellers on Mercari:Even if you follow every policy, Mercari can still take your money back.They allow buyers to hold your property and get fully refunded, while you get nothing.They will issue invalid return labels and then blame you when it backfires.I am now escalating this beyond Mercari, filing a dispute with their payment processor (Hyperwallet), a BBB complaint, and a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) report for mishandling seller funds.Final Verdict:⚠️ Sellers, BEWARE of Mercari. If you sell valuable items, you risk losing both your item and your money due to their contradictory policies and poor seller protection.I hope Mercari management sees this and corrects their unfair handling of seller disputes. Until then, I strongly advise against selling high-value items on their platform.

Constant flood of emails for subscriptions to portfolios for new categories of products. Hair on fire. AI and other stocks should be included in my existing subscriptions. Seems like MF is not putting as much effort into their older products. Very disappointed. I’ve been a MF subscriber many years. MF under new management?

Don't order online

I placed an order on 10 December which has not yet been dispatched. It is now almost a month later and I have no idea when it will arrive. I have contacted customer services who have offered no useful information. A previous order I placed at the end of November was dispatched within a few days but was missing an item. I have tried to contact customer service about this too but they are not responding. I would recommend just waiting until the shop reopen to avoid dealing with insanely long delays and terrible customer service.

Issue with an Order that was Cancelled but still Shipped

I had an issue with an order that I just placed - I called immediately after placing the order as I noticed the error - Customer Service stated that they would cancel the entire order (as part order could not be cancelled) and I received a confirmation email that the entire order was cancelled. Unfortunately, 2 days later, I received an email stating my order was being shipped. I, again, contacted Customer Service and explained that the order was cancelled within 1 hour of placing and that it was cancelled through their Customer Service - they are still graciously refunding me my entire order - even though the items are being shipped - as the Cancellation was noted; however, for whatever reason did not go through. It is nice to hear that a company still has values and acknowledges an error on their part and not penalizing a customer who tried to correct the issue immediately. Thank you Amy in Customer Service......

Manager Hung up on me

Yesterday: The courier was aggressive and vulgar. I was in a towel and told them I couldn’t open the door further, but they refused to give me my parcel and tried to force me to come out of my apartment. When I called to complain, the manager spoke loudly to someone else while I was talking, telling me to keep talking without actually listening.Today: I assume the courier was reprimanded because in retaliation, they never showed up to deliver my parcel. I paid for delivery, but it was dumped at a pick-up location without notice.The agent #1: I called to report this. The agent was unprofessional, hard to understand, confused, and kept putting me on hold. Then they suggested I pay a fee for redelivery.Manager #2: I was transferred to a manager who seemed to understand my concerns, but when I expressed concerns over quality of future business services due these two experiences, she hung up on me.I will never use UPS again. They can send the parcel back to the sender.

Horrible

Horrible! The entire user admin side is riddled with error messages when you try to manage your domain. Ex. I tried to transfer my domain to Cloudflare by unlocking the domain and disabling DNSSEC, but Squarespace kept giving me a "try again later" error message. A lot of unable to process request and try again later errors. Just confirm my transfer. Expedite it. Stop trying to block me from moving my domain elsewhere! My site will be down for a long time since this domain transfer to Cloudflare is taking forever (a week), AND support is non-existent if you call AI Chatbot or long technical documentation support. Noob
