Review Time
The Tableau software is a powerful tool for creating visualizations; however, their support is horrible. Tickets can stay open for months without even a single reply. We constantly have a new AE that may or may not reply to emails. Tableau has some of the worst customer services of any company I work used.
Tableau products and support have gone downhill since salseforce acquired it. I've seen some really good staff leaving the company because they don't like the new restructure. I've opened cases and just no response for weeks. The account manager apparently had moved on to another team and not responding to emails...
Unbelievable bad technical service. It has been over 3 weeks and we have not been able to get technical help. The sales team tells me this is typical standard service response time, wait a long time and hope someone calls back. Our sales rep was gladly attempted to sell an enhanced service package. Their standard can be described as poor (F) rating. Would the enhanced plan be poor++ (D) rating? Since we are a company <$250M, we get no respect. We are strongly considering another BI application. If we stay with Tableau then we need to recognize their terribly bad service and be self reliant.
The absolute worst support ever. We have a support ticket that we opened in November (it's now March) that they haven't responded to at all. The standard response from them, if when they do respond, is always just a link to 30 other pages, none of which answer the question that was asked.
We were on 30 days trial. The trial was about to expire but things didn't work correctly. Tableaus aggressive onboarding team made me sign for a one-year contract anyway. They promised to support us until everything works. But that did not happen. So I talked to them. Someone seemed to understand and said, he'd cancel the invoice and give us another trial and hopes, thins will work. After a few months, it worked indeed. So we purchased again. But: we never got a license even we already paid. Statement: the old invoice needs to be paid. So although we have a written confirmation, that the invoice is cancelled, tableau didn't cancel and now we have no money and no license. Very sad company. The product might be great but the philosophy horrible.
Tableau has so much power it is hard to know where to start. It can be overwhelming at first. I wish they had more tutorials that were up to date. The ones I found on the website all seemed to reference older versions of the software. It is also pretty expensive and my rep seemed unwilling to give any discount at all. Still the best BI tool I've seen though so I'm a subscriber.
Tableau is a nice software for analysis and for sharing dashboards but they are extremely incompetent in running their business.I can't believe such a large operation runs in such amateur principles.I purchased tableau for two companies I worked for. The first one we bought our licenses and it worked ok. Crazy weird process for paying for stuff (considering we were in 2017, they process was something from early 2000s).Now, second company I'm buying tableau. I got Tableau online and a desktop license (not gonna mention their pricing changes that just messed everything up). I got the invoice and paid.Next, to download the keys I was sent the wrong keys, for Tableau Server, which was of no interest to us. So Contacted support and told them the mistake.They blamed it on "a migration" (I wonder who was the smarty pants who exchanged the cheapest license for the most expensive one) and gave us a "Trial" account for tableau online. That worked fine for a month until it started showing that our environment was in trial and it would be turned off soon.3 months in, we 1) still don't have the trial online environment, 2) no sign of the Tableau Online we actually paid for and 3) support is still "migrating" our tableau server license to our tableau online license. I wonder how do they intend on being a top software vendor when they can bearly operate a website and a license system. Terrible experience but the desktop software is good....
