Review Time
Our company had one Tableau Cloud Creator license and when we downloaded the Desktop version, the only way to do it was apparently through a "free trial" even though our rep told us that our Creator license price included the Desktop version. I asked our rep:"Question for you - I downloaded Tableau desktop today, but the only option I saw was to sign up for a 14-day trial. I thought it was already included in our subscription so I wanted to make sure that the 'trial' doesn't cost anything extra when the trial period is over ? " And her exact response was, "The trial does not cost anything, it is a free trial. I do see an active trial in your file - you are ok to use it if you'd like. Once it expires your license will take effect."I told her that she hadn't answered my question and asked for a call to discuss and never received a response. Meanwhile, Tableau did add another license (that we did not request) and it has been weeks and they still have not resolved it and keep sending us "outstanding invoices." Beware - their pricing and the way that they handle adding licenses is not at all straightforward and response times are terrible.
Great tool, but horrible customer service operations backing Tableau. I believe Tableau should have its own Customer Support team and not a sub of Salesforce. With the cost of the Tableau License one would expect a better support service. Too bad!
Tableau has the worst customer support. Not because of the reply was late but because they show buy buy on their all linked pages. You have to think about your customer time atleast you can make it little easy to access
While the software is OK, their customer service is terrible. Not "bad" - just the worst customer service you have probably ever experienced in your life. The whole "activation keys" and "licenses" business is a mess - you end up having tens of different keys and accounts and whatever, in 2022 this is already a joke. Then when they mess up with payments and renewals - oh they do! - you enter a surreal loophole of idiotic mails from Salesforce, asking you to access the Saleforce portal (that you don't have access to, because your only a Tableau customer), and so forth. But the cherry on the cake is when you get in contact with their Customer Service representatives, who are the human version of the stupidest bots you have ever interacted with. Do you have a problem? Don't worry here's a link. The link doesn't work? Here's another one. This doesn't work either? No problem, here's another one to infinity and beyond. I wish I had never bought Tableau. We will now start a very expensive process to get rid of them asap.
