Review Time
I canceled my subscription for myself and my daughter. We are too annoyed by Tamara Levitt. She has a terrible voice for meditation. I have tried to use other narrators but she hogs most of the app. There are tons of reviews that want her to let others use their voices. Are you listening Calm app? Steer clear of this app. Never update it too, same old stories.
Absolutely abysmal customer service by this very lackadaisical company. I actually really loved the meditations which is why I decided to continue my subscription. Or so I thought. Long and short is that their system is terrible and when I complained that I couldn’t get signed up on their offer, I got a 2 standardised messages instructing me on how to sign up, these methods did not work. I then emailed to complain about this and am now being ghosted! I have now completely changed my mind and wouldn’t want to give a penny to this woefully awful company. I was expecting to feel Calm using their service, instead I feel tense and stressed. The fact that they don’t seem bothered by their overall rating on here is also worrying.
Tamara Levitt has to have the most irritating voice. I can't bear to listen to anything she narrates.I also can't listen to anything involving trains because of a personal tragedy. This seriously limits my options. Having said that there are some soothing stories. I wish there was more to appeal to UK users
I hate this app. They automatically activate the premium, took my money and even when i tried to contact Apple, they made me waited for so long and said they could not do it. I warn noone should you it. Even with the subscription, i think is it just bad, wasted of money.
I LOVE the calm app. However the majority of all meditations is read by Tamara Levitt and I simply canNOT stand the voice. Especially the first cracking word “welcome” gives me the creeps. I see Tamara is “head” of Calm. Perhaps giving others some space to read the meditations would help? I’ve read more peopleComplaining on the way of speaking…. Its not personal, but the amound of meditations “without” Tamara is simply too little…
Signed up for the free 7 day trial. Cancelled after 3 days as the readers and audio quality wasn't good. Never used any content as my Stats on the site prove. But after the 7 days I got charged for the full year! Nowhere to discuss or ask questions about a refund. My CC company is handling it now. Not a great way for a company which is supposed to help with relaxation to behave! BEWARE!!!
In theory this should be a great product. It is not. Theater is no real customer service to speak of. They offer a deal to hospitals. I had it free for a year during Covid through my employer. If I used it twice, that would be it. Was automatically charged for another year. I don’t remember giving them my credit card. I had to go through American Express to cancel the charge as I was not given an opportunity to speak or chat online. Steer clear of this app.
Good sessions, but truly terrible customer support. They seem to take your money, then do absolutely nothing: zero help if problems, eg getting locked out. Bad + automated ‘help’: either doesn’t reply or sends pointless standardised rubbish. Dire. Also never update or add to the calm body section in over a year
I love listening to sleep stories on Calm, but I have to pass on most of the meditations and other useful tips read by Tamara Levitt. Her voice timbre and style of speech is so irritating. I will not renew my subscription because of it. Sorry Tamara. She is probably a wonderful person, just wrong for reading relaxation meditations.
