Review of booking
I have used the app quite frequently but will now either discontinue, decrease use, or delete it completely due to a potential identity theft problem. The app allows property owners to use WhatsApp numbers and emails to request information or payment in the messaging section. This is an invitation for identity theft (sending of id docs) or payment fraud. Booking has little or no personal customer service and relies of bots to police these issues. A better solution is not to allow email addresses or phone numbers in the app.

I was charged almost double what my prepaid voucher from Booking.com stated when I went to collect a car from Avis. The price was inflated with fees and add-ons that I never agreed to, and the rental terms were completely misrepresented as a refundable deposit .To dispute this, I sent Booking.com a copy of the only document I was provided at the rental desk — clearly showing no agreement to the extra charges (I have had 3 invoices all with differing amounts from Avis) . Shockingly, they sent that same document back to me as “evidence” to justify the overcharge, even though it lacked any signature or acceptance from me.They’ve completely ignored the core issue. My requests for escalation were brushed aside, I’ve been sent the same copy-paste replies over and over, and now they are not responding to my messages at all. To make things worse, they claimed the email I sent my complaint to isn’t monitored — despite clearly using that email to access and reply with the document.Booking.com is enabling misleading practices by their partners and refusing to take accountability or fulfill their own terms and conditions or complaints process. What I hoped would be a simple and obvious ask has now led me to pursuing a chargeback through my bank and escalating to Trading Standards. Absolutely avoid using them — especially for car rentals

The McAfee Total Protection virus software crashed my MacBook Pro. I spoke to several McAfee tech support people to have them remote in and fix the issue. They could not and offered me a two year software extension, which they are now telling me different things. Regardless, I told the technician I would gladly take the extension if they could get it to work. Did I mention I ended up buying a new MacBook Pro because the software messed up my computer. The technician could not fix the issue and finally admitted that the McAfee software is currently NOT working on Apple products and they don't know when it will be resolved. When I pointed out this fact and that an extension in coverage wouldn't help me if the software doesn't work and they don't know when it will be fixed. So, a refund was offered to me which I took. I submitted my purchase receipt as instructed and waited. I waited three weeks with no updates, so I just contacted them for status. The representative I just spoke with said refund is not possible since I purchased it from a third party retailer, Fry's before they went bankrupt. I would have to contact them for a refund. I explained that McAfee should stand behind their guarantee and not Fry's because Fry's isn't the problem, its the software that's the problem. So, the representative said there's nothing they can do about it and that I will have to take it up with Fry's. So Apple users, STAY AWAY from McAfee because it will crash your Apple product. The date on the issue started May 2022 and my conversation with the representative today is 7/20/2022.

techopedia has this amazing ability to explain things without making you feel stupid. I'm a small business owner trying to understand AI for investment management, and their recent article broke down why most institutions aren't ready in terms I could actually grasp.
