Miss represented product and terrible customer service

I was charged almost double what my prepaid voucher from Booking.com stated when I went to collect a car from Avis. The price was inflated with fees and add-ons that I never agreed to, and the rental terms were completely misrepresented as a refundable deposit .To dispute this, I sent Booking.com a copy of the only document I was provided at the rental desk — clearly showing no agreement to the extra charges (I have had 3 invoices all with differing amounts from Avis) . Shockingly, they sent that same document back to me as “evidence” to justify the overcharge, even though it lacked any signature or acceptance from me.They’ve completely ignored the core issue. My requests for escalation were brushed aside, I’ve been sent the same copy-paste replies over and over, and now they are not responding to my messages at all. To make things worse, they claimed the email I sent my complaint to isn’t monitored — despite clearly using that email to access and reply with the document.Booking.com is enabling misleading practices by their partners and refusing to take accountability or fulfill their own terms and conditions or complaints process.What I hoped would be a simple and obvious ask has now led me to pursuing a chargeback through my bank and escalating to Trading Standards. Absolutely avoid using them — especially for car rentals
