Review of ecosia
For functionality, I think Ecosia deserves 4 or 5 stars. Let’s face it: it’s hard to beat Google. However, for social and environmental impact, I think Ecosia deserves 5/5 Green Stars, blowing Google out of the water (read on for more info on the green stars rating). If you make Ecosia your default and you want to occasionally use Google for a specific search then just include the tag #g after your search term and Ecosia will bring you directly to the Google search results for that term. So it’s easy to maintain use of Google search for times when you think you need it (which isn’t that often, I find). There are other useful tags on Ecosia too – here’s a sample of them:#i for images#m for Google maps #n for news #tw will take you to the twitter results for your search#v for videos#w will take you to the related Wikipedia article#yt will take you straight to the YouTube results for your searchI’m awarding Ecosia a score of 5/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact based on the following:1. Ecosia uses 80% of revenue (after operational costs) to fund tree-planting operations.2. Advertising revenue from around 45 searches is sufficient to fund planting of one tree.3. It’s certified by B-Corporation for social and environmental impact, with a good score of 113.4. Ecosia's servers are powered by company-owned solar plant.5. These solar panels produce twice the solar energy required for search; excess electricity is supplied to the grid.6. They do not use tax-avoidance strategies, unlike most other tech companies (like Google).7. Ecosia has better privacy terms and supplies fewer ads than major search engines like Google. There has been some confusion generated by a few people online suggesting that Ecosia is less green than Google. It’s based on an argument that Ecosia’s search algorithm is adopted from Microsoft Bing and therefore has a larger carbon footprint than Google’s. However, even though Ecosia's search does partly rely on Microsoft's servers (as well as Ecosia's own solar-powered servers), the fact that Google is a little closer to carbon-neutrality than Microsoft pales into insignificance compared to the impact of tree-planting. Here are some numbers to explain this:• The carbon cost of a single web search: around 0.2 grams CO2, according to Google.• Carbon saved by tree-planting funded by Ecosia: 1 kg CO2 per search.• So the carbon captured from Ecosia-funded tree-planting is 5000-times greater than the footprint of a search. For more detail on all of this, please check out the Green Stars Project (greenstarsproject.org)

Not military friendly. They refuse to use USPS for shipping to APOs so it goes through Fedex Smartpost and takes months. Their customer service on the matter is shocking - they really don’t care at all. Makes me not want to use them even when I’m back stateside.

I ordered something with a delivery today by 10pm. At 9.59 it was still delivery by 10pm. At 10.01 it was delivery within 3 days. Clearly there was never any chance of delivery by 10pm and if there was no chance they must have known before 10.01. I tried Rufus, their 'AI' assistant. It is an entirely pointless service.

Despite three call handlers and one lost call to a manager and one further call to a manager I was left with the instruction that I had to re order the product. Amazon were difficult to understand, and their empathy was extremely poor. I am terminally ill.

After numerous miserable calls with AAA roadside assistance, support, and corporate, I felt it was my solemn obligation to do my part to make sure this company survives "one less" day. I attempted to use their service several times this year, each time being an abysmal failure on their part for different reasons each time! For the most part however, the issue is their employees. With no due respect, they are utter trash. They don't know how to deal with their customers, they are apathetic, and they don't deliver any results whatsoever. They WILL NOT provide value to you when you need it. Your wait times will be INSANE, if they come at all. When you request a refund or reimbursement, GOOD LUCK! You will not get updates, you will not get communication, you will get passed around like a cheap ____. And you will take it, or have to call back. And guess what? It's mostly a monopoly, so you don't have much of a choice other than using a third party each time you need roadside assistance. I pray deeply that AAA finds itself out of money and a part of history.

Many happy years with Sony since 2007 – those were the days! Now, it all feels a bit like a right rip-off. Here's the rub: you need a subscription just to play online, and all these so-called "free" games in your subscription are just trials. That means if PlayStation yanks a game from their library, even if it's installed on your console or external hard drive, they can block you from playing it altogether – even if you've forked out for in-game purchases.By their reckoning, all the games you access with a subscription are simply trials because you only have them as long as they're on the service (limited time). There's no point in adding anything to your library as you'll likely lose access to most of them eventually. You'll just see a padlock symbol because PlayStation decided to bin the game off their subscription. It doesn't matter if you're halfway through or splashed out on in-game stuff; this all feels like a ploy to pressure folks into buying the games again. This is a far cry from other gaming companies that prioritise you owning the games. They let you keep playing installed games even after they're removed from the store or subscription service, like with Game Pass. Unfortunately, I learnt this the hard way. After years of loyalty and paying what feels like extortionate prices for tech and games, I feel utterly mugged off and frankly, scammed.

Absolutely pathetic customer service. Sent my limited edition controller in for repair for the 3rd time because it keeps getting drift. They tell me it cannot be repaired or replaced as they do not have stock of this design any longer. My only options were to have the faulty controller returned to me unusable, or to accept a replacement of a basic controller. After weeks of fighting, they eventually offered me a replacement with another Limited edition controller, but that would mean losing my GoW one. I eventually caved and took this option, and received my replacement controller this morning .. it's a 2nd hand, unboxed controller. Are you kidding me?! You're selling faulty/poor quality goods and think it's acceptable to replace with a second hand controller? Absolutely pathetic. If it wasn't for exclusive games I'd sell my PS5 and go to Xbox.

Wow. Should have looked at these reviews before applying. Worst company I've had to deal with ever wish I could give them less than one star. Made the application and the postal code was wrong 4 calls later verifying who I was. 5th call I threw in the towel. No wonder they're close to being out of business

The packaging is secure and neat, perfectly suited for retail.I would especially like to thank Cissy for her attentiveness, prompt communication, and support throughout the entire ordering process. It’s a pleasure to work with a professional who genuinely cares about the customer. All my requests were taken into account, and communication was smooth and friendly.I’ll be happy to order again and highly recommend this supplier to anyone who values quality and reliability!

This criminal corporation now arbitrarily decides which people you know and which you don't. If Facebook thinks you don't know the person, you can't send them a friend request, even if you actually know them. Such corporations must be immediately expropriated without compensation and placed under the democratic control of the population.
