They're running a sort of Sham, dishonest, lies-based, manipulative, unprofessional scheme=== Nature's Scientific reports ===Here, I'll try to summarize this farce (screens attached)*At first they lure you by saying congrats, you've passed the review stage now and you need to edit the paper as requested*Then they keep wasting your time by asking for dozens of pretty much meaningless from edits*They say they're "multidisciplinary" while they're not, they don't have enough or probably any engineering reviewers*This go on and on for months*ONE YEAR later, they say they've invited a reviewer* More than one year later I inquired about the paper* Less than 2 days later the engineering paper got trashed by an earth science woman who's got nothing to do with the field.The paper progress history is too long it needed a short video: youtube dot com/watch?v=_oRXux2iuPw

A few months ago i was charged for a hotel room i never got to stay in. I was told to dispute the charge once it was done pending and nothing was done about it. $75 dollars was taken from me and I never received any kind of compensation.

Unsubscribing requires call to their support.This is ridiculous, to subscribe was easy as doing that online and giving them my card details, but to unsubscribe I have to call a support line, wait in line because they are "experiencing a high number of calls" and then speak with someone who is non-native, and struggle to understand what they are saying. I am furious at these sneaky practices. As good as their journalism may be, this shady business practice leaves me with a bitter taste.

Failing news agency scamming subscriptions

Failing mainstream news agency trying to stay afloat by running subscription scams. Misleading subscription pricing making it appear to be £1 or less per month, where after 3 months it goes up considerably. Only offering cancellation by phone amounts to fraud. Call the cancellation line and demand a cancellation with no further discussion. Don't let their sales reps blast you with excessive spiel, just keep demanding instant cancellation. Shame as there's some good reporting, the journalists being let down by the management trying to trick and con the reader base.

HORRIBLE customer service support

I was charged for Premium unexpectedly, when I am on my last few euro’s for basic necessities. I am on benefits, unemployed and looking for a job. And they were saying to me how because I didn’t cancel it within the 14 grace period from the DAY OF MY SUBSCRIPTION BEGINNING they can’t give me a refund. I was charged yesterday. They find loopholes to make their refund policy a certain way so they don’t have to refund their customers. Especially when they unintentionally renewed, like myself since I forgot to cancel my subscription before the day it renewed again. Since, in my case that money wasn’t to spare, it was in my account so I could afford food for the week it really angered me how their “customers service support” dealt with me. And I promise, I am not usually the angry person cooking up a storm, I worked retail for years and making complaints to companies is just not my cup of tea. Most companies find accidental renewals a good enough qualifier to give you a refund, so even after “looking at my circumstances” all they did was scam me out of my money. This company is a joke. Charging €12 for an individual plan, underpaying artists and not even having good quality for their streaming platform they charge so much for. I am better off switching to Apple Music again. Customers support doesn’t even have an email you can contact, pretty sure it is a bot regardless of the amount of time they take to respond. I just think it’s silly at this point, it used to be my favourite streaming platform but they’ve changed it so much over the years that it’s becoming beyond disappointing. I’m not surprised people are cancelling subscriptions and switching over to other platforms. It’s been nearly the whole month and I am still updating on the issue because I’m still so angry. For it not to be a waste of my money I’ll have to use it till the subscription runs out, which annoys me even more because I frankly don’t want to spend time on their platform. To buy occasionally and turn off auto renewal, maybe worth it. Have a student ID and can get the cheaper student plan, sure. But if you genuinely want a good platform to listen to music, don’t get Spotify and definitely don’t start paying for their bullshit priced plans. Behind the scenes the profits go mainly towards their “amazing” company.

After 15 years, I'm no longer using Shutterstock.

I've been using Shutterstock for 15 years. I've implemented it in many companies that I've worked for. But today I cancel my account. My annual membership was due to expire, so I had a note in my calendar and went to check my profile for an auto-renewal setting. I couldn't find one, so I thought I was fine. But no, they charged me. So I went on the chat, asked for a refund and for auto-renew to be turned off, got the refund, job done. UNTIL I got charged again two days ago. Went on customer care chat and spoke to someone who really didn't make any sense, was told "as a one-time courtesy, I have requested a £166.80 refund for you". No it's really not a courtesy, you took my money without my permission. And then now, coming on here, I'm genuinely sad. An overwhelming bad experience by thousands of people. Is Shutterstock not embarrassed? It feels like a pyramid scheme to me now. Tricking and trapping people.
