Deceptive, bad user interface giving user little transparency or ability to resolve issues properly

Ok, I initially wrote a bad review for coursera. What I discovered was that the platform is counterintuitive. If you have an issue go to google and type in your issue, mine was “cancelled” so i typed in “coursera cancelled” and it brought up their help and support forums with previous answers, i found the answer there. If you are cancelled and already enrolled simply go into the course and click on a graded assignment. If its locked it will show you your options. But you have to go click on the submit button. So you have to fill in the assignment requirements first then attempt to submit, it says you cannot complete unless you pay X___amount. So a popup will come up inside there… it did for me at least. Try using their help forums… and go to coursera dot support forums… it’s very hard to find!! I’m us based here. Initially was a great experience but around mid june of 2024 I began experiencing issues with the platform right when i was almost finished with several courses in the specialization. First of all my work is being copied by other users and in one instance the platform flagged me as a fraud. I then resubmitted and had no issues. I have already obtained experience in the field but i need credentials to obtain a proper job and can not afford expensive schooling or training right now. I paid for my specialization and by the way nowhere on the platform does it provide prices or financial info for what i am paying for. They provided a price initially which i am now paying for monthly but at this point there is nothing to reference… smart coursera. What really sticks is that I am in the final module 98% done and they locked it. They then proceeded to raise the price from $50 to $80. and they tried to get me to sign up for a plus account. First it was pay only $1 then I received a marketing ad with a price with an inactive link so i could not click on it. So since i needed to submit my work on time to pass I did a free trial of plus as they are not accepting our payment. I am in a very intensive module and it’s important to submit on time or i can lose out to obtaining my credentials.Secondly, i am using the coursera ios app on my spouse’s phone because I recently was without one and finally got a new one. So the payment goes through his “iTunes” account and it’s impossible to switch it. I have updated my payment on the desktop platform and again tried through ios. The payment repeatedly failed. So we added more money to the itunes account and coursera proceeded to cancel my subscription and put me in audit mode. But there isn’t much transparency on my end. I can’t see why its in audit mode or if it means that there is a payment structure set up to begin again in the next billing cycle. I mean there is no option to pay now which is ludicrous and all it shows is the payment info entered nothing else. It says renew subscription and cancelled.This literally will help my unemployed family not have to live in poverty as we are running out of food and don’t receive unemployment. We have nothing. I actually went without gas this past week or two due to adding $50 for coursera which they did not accept.Therefore I am on a free trial plus subscription and had to cancel it, they offered me 50% off. I accepted but payment is now due july 2 which is past my due dates?? And i saw this information briefy show up on the site but then it disappeared. So I don’t know how to plan or what to expect. My grades are 97% and 100% and my work is professional level, i simply need my specialization certificate so Cal Arts will recognize it for the extended studies cert and i can also use it to enter into an mfa. I wouldn’t be on coursera if we weren’t laid off … i would be at parsons in person most likely paying thousands for a few courses. At this stage it seems that the learning platforms seem to all use similar deceptive billing methods and offer very little control to the user nor do they offer much transparency to the user. They favor the companies they partner with it seems. But i’m tired of being made to feel useless and at this point i will simply no longer invest my time or money into these types of products. I’d also like to know what components of the platform are outsourced and if they are India based as my spouse speaks fluent hindi… we did this with adobe as the person on the phone was indian and we found it to be very helpful in conflict resolution.

bbb.org is not neutral agency as everyone believe is

Hi, I have been using BB for very long time, and thought its trustworthy review place. Until i had issue with a company, and file a report to BBB. Not only they dont create a case, and they simply closed the case, and DID not bother to post it at all. Claiming that company in Vancouver . BC is correct. After few email exchange, they even admit that they follow other company policy Now i understand those review are faked, and BBB is funded by local business. So basically they care about the local business more than other. Go to wikipedia, they are tellling the truth, BBB are supported by local business. Basically its a show to make you feel that it is a neutral entity. In fact, they are giving bias to whoever paid more locally. If they are big or gave enough fund, they dont bother create a case, NOR POST that complain or view on BBB. Basically they will remove bad review on behalf of the business they support. Therefore BBB.org is NO longer a neutral. Hope more people can see it. I was searching for bad practice from google, i have to tried multiple times, and go back many pages. Finally found this page. Now i understand im not the only person found out bbb.org is not a neutral agency. We are all train to believe bbb.org is credible agency. In fact, they are helping those who funded them most to remove bad complains. So sad but truth until you found out the "neutral" bbb.org is not what most people think its. Hope more people realized, and found out the bad side of bbb.orgHave a good day for those see it here! :D

Trying to list a compound bow sight on…

Trying to list a compound bow sight on marketplace but keep getting message it goes against their rules on selling weapons , strange when a sight is classed as a weapon but bows and arrows are not , every appeal I have lodged gets ignored and threatened with being banned from marketplace if I continue to try and list it . I've typed in bows and arrows on marketplace and their are loads of them being sold but for some reason it's just MY sight that is deadly dangerous and not the bows and arrows that they have allowed to be listed .

Review of backblaze

Perplexed and confused by poor ratings...

In common with the other 5 star reviewers here, I’m taken aback by the number of bad revies for this organisation. As a photographer based in Scotland, I’ve used Backblaze to back up my images for over 6 years and have found them to be effective, efficient and communicative. Every single time I’ve reached out to them, a named individual has responded withing 24 hours and that same person has seen the conversation through to a conclusion. Having previously recovered individual images, I’ve just used them to recover 2tb of images due to me (like a total eejit) dropping an external drive. The recovery process was simple and within a week I had a 2tb drive with all my images delivered to my door.Just my opinion, but I believe that the vast majority of the poor reviews are down to user-error and people simply not taking due care when linking all their drives. I may not have used them if I’d seen these reviews, but I’ll continue with Backblaze and can’t recommend them highly enough…

Very unprofessional service

Very poor. I am a old customer of Ispring for more than 10 years. They sell life time software validity. Recently my maintenance plan expired. I asked them to change my mail id as my earlier id was not working properly. Surprisingly for changing email in their online account they need a maintenance plan. Quite unprofessional. I felt cheated.

PROBLEM WITH EDX:NO RESPONSE FROM EDX FOR GRADING ISSUE

I decided to enrol in a Microsoft program for data science, it consists of 11 modules. When I started the program in October 2019, I was notified that I needed to register all modules before 15 Sep 2019 and complete all modules by 31 December 2019 because the program is going to be discontinued. I have completed 8 out of the 10 modules and registered for the capstone project (11 module) on 4 November 2019. I have been having problems with the last 2 modules because I'm not being graded. This is a major problem because EDX got their time stamp of the modules to end in October 2019. How can they allow people to register for 10 modules in September and then deny them the opportunity to progress. Mind you this is not cheap $1100. It was clearly stated that the program will end in December and all modules will have to be completed. I tried to contact Edx and they don't respond. Now my goal of attaining a Microsoft certificate is compromised. It's really sad that they(Edx) exploit students like this. @ Josh sent 8 emails to the link you have provided over the past 2 days but still no assistance. Edx is not grading assignments and Exams. I even asked for a contact number. No response.

You spend thousands a year and they don't have a phone number or speak to you when you need. The worst customer service in the world but they get away with it as lets face it what can their customers do, there is no alternative to go anywhere else. If you don't use their service, you won't show up on google, so they can get away with providing the worst service in the world.

I recently had an awful experience with this company. My package was damaged in transit, and several items were missing. I contacted customer service, and they asked me to fill out a lot of forms and provide a lot of information. I understand that they need to investigate the issue, but it seems like they're blaming the courier instead of taking responsibility for the problem. I'm terribly disappointed with how they've handled the situation, and I don't even know if I will get this resolved. Look at the reviews, they're awful. Thumbtack does not carre about contractors, only out for money and profit. DO NOT USE IT TRUST ME

CONTRACORS DO NOT USE THUMBTACK! I so home remodels in Denver and holy shit do not use thumbtack. They are now like angi list and 1--% out for money and could give a shit about the contractors on their website. I have been billed twice for a job, they claim i can get a refund, but my refund was denied. This happened a second time, refund denied again. I get home owners who book me direct but when I call or or message them, they dont respond (probably because they contacted 20 other people). Thumbtack says though shit on that one, so more money lost. I have had way more success making a website, making business flyers and sending them around the areas of the city where I want to work. I would avoid thumbtack at all costs it will just take money from you and you will get nothing from it. I have had multiple contractor friends have this happen and we are spreding the word so another big ass company dosent suck working people dry.
