Review of ea

Profit focus + sloppy design + technical debt puts the EA gaming experience onto my blacklist.

Game launchers (with the possible exception of GOG, which at least lets you download game installers for offline use independent of the launcher) are hideous.Case in point, in 2021 I purchased Star Wars: Squadrons through Epic Games (who was having a sale at the time). To install and launch the game, Epic's launcher launches the EA app in order to access the game from my library on the EA side.A few years pass, the pandemic takes its toll, I don't feel much like gaming, so don't revisit the game until this week. Now, upon trying to launch the game, I find that when I try to launch the game from Epic, I'm met with a completely empty library in EA app. If I search for say "squadrons", the game icon comes up, and I can click it to install, but guess what, after that, NOTHING happens. After several online chats and email support with Epic and EA both, the problem remains unsolved, and I am thoroughly disillusioned with this situation. I'm out $39.99 for an enjoyable game thanks to things being mired in the technical debt of these needless, bloated third-party launchers which EAs various money-hungry management thought was a good idea. That, on top of AAA gaming's pay-to-play, always on, loot box and DLC shenanigans makes me extremely hesitant to bother purchasing a game whose media I can't own. Largely gone are the days when big game studios enabled you to actually download and own the digital media that makes up your purchase. You have to play by their rules, and if things change over time that disrupts the brittle mechanisms and partnerships between launcher mongers as is the case here, things break, and customers leave bad reviews.Incidentally, with Epic Games, I found that some years back they decided a username I set in the past was "offensive", prompting them to change it to some default, "Userblahblahblah", whatever. The software developer in me thinks that this is a contributing factor to my woes with the Epic => EA launcher when trying to play the game, because maybe whatever references to the Epic username I had at the time, that the EA app then was configured for, became orphaned so that now the EA app has no basis to know that yes, I am in fact a valid user. This is the kind of nonsense that happens when profit driven corporations make like slavedrivers to their "rock star" and other technical staff, prompting them to deploy stuff that may've been run past a best practice or few but not actually been developed to implement any strongly or thoroughly.

Review of buzzsprout

In my search for a podcast hosting directory in late 2021, I came across Buzzsprout through various articles and videos. Since choosing this platform, I have not been disappointed! The interface is simple and intuitive, and very thankful to have a place that feels like home where my podcast: The ibringwater Show, can grow its wings.

Growing Business With Creativity

Had a great experience shopping the variety of items, and even when a printing was damaged, Shapeways facilitated replacement trials and a refund. I plan to order again! Very creative company.

Do NOT buy this horrendous shit

Do NOT buy this horrendous shit. I can't cancel my plan, even though im up to date on payments. I tried to cancel earlier, and was told I would have to pay a ridiculously large "early cancel" fee. I waited until my last installment to cancel, and now I'm getting a "Billing error" so I can't even VIEW the cancel option. Absolutely HORRENDOUS PREDATORY company. Use the fake Adobe software. It is WAY better. What a shame of a company. If I could give negative stars I would. Will NEVER use these services again.

Review of agoda

Agoda are a disaster if you need help

I have used Agoda for years to book hotels. I made a flight booking for my brother and his wife and made an error on a date of birth. It has been a nightmare to try and fix. Hours of phone calls with no resolution. Different operators every time …. Never again. Can’t begin to say how disappointed I am

Gutted in Greenwich

On Saturday Sept 11th the Daily Telegraph was being sold gutted - with all its innards missing - in Greenwich (or in all the shops I could physically visit) . Readers were nevertheless being charged £3.00. To complain it appears you have to be a subscriber. God forbid!

Review of Spotify

Life is getting expansive

We used to buy cd's and cassettes. For like +-25 euro/dollar. Now we pay 130dollar/euro a year for thé same music. I understand we need to support artist. But... +-130 for a while year just to listen to a couple of songs. Get free? You can't choose a song when u are using it for free. I know Spotify won't Care about this. But if we all think a little more like this....

Review of Spotify

Napster 2.0

One star is TOO generous for this egregious company. Increasing prices with nothing good to show for it.Recommended music is atrocious. Recommending music I do not like or would NEVER listen to.Spotify Artist Exclusives are trash as their notices are late and don't give you a chance in HELL to obtain anything.Music is on the platform one day and gone the next. Music/Tracks tied to artists that have NOTHING to do with the song or sang it. Ghost artists and producers mucking the waters up to make them more money and not pay legit artists. C9nnectivity to Alexa is ridiculous as it never keeps a solid connection. This company is Napster 2.0. DO NOT BOTHER! NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR THEIR B.S.

I had a HP printer 2700 model for one year one month, after signing up to the ink program then cancelling as the printer = NOT ONCE DID IT PRINT A PAGE WITHOUT DEFECTS, not for the want of trying from customer services and a vast amount of ink and paper, you then can not use the printer unless you change the ink cartridges, so it has gone to the dump glad to see the back of it waste of time and money. NEVER Again Will I buy any HP products

Review of dropbox

They keep saying the problem is solved but they havent even understand it yet

They keep telling me over email that they have now restored the data that I lost, but there is still no data to be seen in the folders. Then asked why my data suddenly just went missing, I get no respond or they shift the topic to something else. my expansion ran out and left me with 6 GB instead of 50 and now I am missing 44 GB of photos and video there is never coming back.dropbox is a once in a lifetime. not worth it Tow words: Google Photosmuch better, and it's possible to contact them over the phone without needing to pay for it...

Deceptive billing

Even when paying monthly, you will still be billed for deleted users. You need to go to a setting on a different page to change the billing. Very deceptive and misleading.
