Review of 500px

If I could give this review zero stars…

If I could give this review zero stars I would. I had an annual pro membership and they set it to automatically renew. I had decided that it was no longer worth keeping the membership, especially at their expensive renewal rate. When I got the notice that it was going to automatically renew, I attempted to follow their instructions to cancel the renewal. However, even though I was logged in to my account, it was showing that I only had a "Basic" membership (free) and therefore would not give me the option to cancel the renewal. The only options I was given were to upgrade to a different membership. This occurred on a Saturday. Their support is only available on weekdays. Then my account was charged the full renewal fee on Sunday morning.I contacted them immediately to report the problem and request a cancellation and refund. They replied on Monday and stated that everything was working on their end and since I failed to cancel before the renewal, I was not eligible for a refund.I do not wish to have a Pro membership anymore. I tried to cancel. Their system failed and now they have stated that they are keeping my money. This is extremely unethical.

Review of mastercard

The Mastercard phone verification sucks

The Mastercard phone verification process is far too rigid and inflexible. Firstly, they put my card on hold because of 'possible fraud' because my son ordered a pizza from 'Pizza Hut' online in May 2018. When I called the number to get the card released they asked a never-ending number of personal identification questions, all of which were easy to answer, i.e. DOB, Address, Mothers maiden name , etc. However at the end of the process they confirm that the answers did not match their system records and therefore they could not proceed. I know my DOB and all the other answers. They would not say which question did not match their system so you are left in limbo. I have called back 5 times now and they are still rejecting my verification. Frankly, it's a pathetic system.

Review of garmin

Tried to order on the Garmin UK website…

Tried to order on the Garmin UK website and after entering my card details, screen just went blank. Waited for 5mins and no confirmation of order. Tried again with the same result. Called the UK contact centre who checked my email address and advised no order received. Tried once again with the same result so gave up. Checked my bank account the next day and 2 charges. Called contact centre at 9am and was advised items already dispatched and would have to return duplicate item. Also, prices vary depending on which internet browser you use. Fenix 5 significantly cheaper on Internet Explorer than Firefox so be sure to check!Very poor online experience. Order confirmation is so basic.

Unreadable with the amount of ads popping up, takes too long to download anything and is an absolute nightmare when you have a slow internet connection. Also the quality of the articles has degenerated into what I can only describe as bring your kids to work day and I'm talking primary level here!

Unreliable and greedy

I found some weird data, inconsistent with data from a reliable analysts cabinet. So I was curious about the origin. However, to view the origin, you need to "register for free".So, I created a free account and I was bugged all the time with nagging "upgrade popups".They don't create their own data. Just scavenge without checking.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY THEY WILL SCAM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT - I accidentally signed onto this service - for the no charge information and realised they have been charging my card monthly over £20 - I wrote to the company asking them to stop as there is no way for me to remove the subscription online - and they have refused. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM - DO NOT GO NEAR PATREON !!

Review of newegg

Honoured Refund - But wont be using again

Honoured Refund - Hence the two star, but won't be using again.Overall - I am not certain the 'New' Laptop I purchased was in fact new.I purchased an MSI GL65 Leopard at a great price - around £200 less than other UK sellers; and considering that was from the US, it is even better when considering the import duty etc. However, the laptop arrived damaged - the screen had 3 areas of discolouration, which usually represents a faulty panel. Hard to believe that it was 'New' upon arrival. As the actual body of the laptop was steel, it leaves marks when touched, and on arrival, it seemed to me someone had tried to clean off fingerprints etc as there was smearing. The process of purchasing was also a painful experience - with back and forth chasing over when the laptop would be shipped and why my order stayed in a verification stage for so long. I was told that it was because they needed to verify my address - and asked for me to provide the 'State' that I lived in. I am from the UK (No States), and purchased on the UK website, so this seems very poor considering they actively sell to the UK market.I spoke to 2 different customer care agents - the first was very unhelpful and told me I would need to pay for the return. Of course, I was extremely reluctant to do so - as the fault was not my own.The second agent was far better and arranged the return for me. They were a lot more understanding and apologetic of the experience and provided some reassurance. They did honour the refund, and it did arrive within the 5 day window they claim refunds will be provided by.A disappointing experience all in all; but had the laptop have been as advertised, this may have been a positive review. However; looking at other reviews, this sort of failure from NewEgg seems extremely common.Hopefully they sort this out; they definitely have potential, but need to be more transparent over their items for sale and policies.I also note that the 'Free £60.00' voucher has major issues if you are from the UK. Although of course I will not be using as I returned my purchase, initially I did browse what I could use it for. I found some speakers which were of interest and added them to my basket. The delivery was stated as £59-£61 on all items, rendering this voucher nothing more than a 'free delivery' on your next purchase discount. Unless you plan on spending over £200 (i.e. you get free delivery anyway), don't consider this voucher as something useful; you'll probably never use it.

Review of macys

I am extremely disappointed to learn…about the unfair cancellation of my credit card

I am extremely disappointed to learn that Macy’s recently closed my credit account without cause. When I signed up for the card, it was under significant pressure from the checkout clerk, who insisted I would receive a 10% discount. Like many, I’m familiar with how these predatory practices work—offering credit in exchange for discounts has become second nature to retailers. At the time I applied for the card, I made an initial purchase of home goods and clothing totaling over $300. I was fully aware the card’s interest rates would be astronomical, so I made sure to use it carefully. I paid off that initial purchase in full within days, owing no interest. A few months later, I bought coats for my children, took advantage of my Star Rewards points, and paid off the nearly $800 balance in full on my next payday. Afterward, I made another purchase of men’s shoes, returning one pair and promptly paying off the remaining balance.Despite keeping my account in excellent standing and paying every bill on time, Macy’s abruptly closed my account. Their reasoning? "Inactivity." This decision impacted my credit score, as they had falsely approved me for a significant credit limit at the time of application. I assume they anticipated I would overspend and carry a balance, allowing them to profit off interest. Instead, I managed my credit responsibly, and their response was to penalize me.As a single widowed parent juggling private school tuition, college tuition, a mortgage, and a car loan, I’ve worked hard to rebuild my credit after past challenges. This experience feels like a slap in the face. Macy’s clearly doesn’t value responsible customers. Their predatory credit practices aim to exploit shoppers, encouraging overspending, which ultimately hurts us all. This experience solidified my decision never to shop at Macy’s again. Their products can be found elsewhere online, often at better prices, without the added hassle of dealing with a company that disrespects its customers. It’s no wonder Macy’s is closing stores—they don’t want loyal, responsible shoppers; they want customers they can take advantage of.I’ll be writing to the credit bureaus to explain how Macy’s canceled my account despite an excellent payment history, causing unnecessary harm to my credit score. Hopefully, I can mitigate the damage they caused, but I’ve learned my lesson: Macy’s isn’t worth my time, loyalty, or money. They didn’t value me, and now, I don’t value them.

Review of fotor

Unfortunately another internet con…

*** I got a refund!!!Unfortunately another internet con typical of scammers and corporations. Offer a bit, customer takes it, hold their slight progress hostage with further financial demands.I was after a bulk background remove but buying $63 of "credits" gets no access to the "services" so it's no operating difference to using the free demo. Even with "credits" a single removal only offers a low resolution download. They demand I pay for one of their many levels of "Pro" subscriptions for that. We all know where this leads. The same subscriptions that others here testify resulted in taking a year of monthly payments at once, and other random charges to their credit cards.I am trying to ensure Fotor cannot charge my account again and am not touching using my credits at all to ensure no complications. If just one payment is validated I fear it will open a flood of minor charges equivalent of my account being hijacked by an internet hacker. They claim to e refunding my money. Will update if it really happens.
