Review Time
Your site seemed reputable and helpful. Maybe it could be reputable but it is FAR from helpful. What's the one issue? It's COMPLETELY INACCESSIBLE! I am a student at OSU (Ohio State University) which may not be Ivy League but it's still a fine school. First when I attempt to login through my institution it is NOT listed. Secondly, when I try to enter into your site via OpenAthens there's some issue regarding conditional access where you 'accept' my credentials but my, my, it's STILL NOT ENOUGH! Thirdly, I could not even find the article in my OSU Library. Thanks a LOT for wasting my time!!! Do NOT recommend--save your time and sanity and try the next publishing site.
I contacted them about a confusing oddity in their pricing system for reprints. I found the information I needed the article for elsewhere in the meantime so I did not actually purchase, but their support people were polite and did a good job answering my question.I think they're crazy to charge 60 USD for 48-hour access to a single magazine article, though.
I too think this company is a scam. I and my brother inherited royalties but in order to get paid the company has demanded more paper. work and documentary evidence than any of our father's other publishers, including Rutledge and Oxford. It was easier to transfer a house, bank accounts and a car. They were additionally demanding notarized signatures even though we are in England, where notaries can only be licensed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. It would cost more than the value of the notaries. The company should know because they began in England. We have been dealing with a particularly obnoxious staff member who heaps on more and more demands that are simply redundant given how much we have provided so far. It is all about their vanity and our questioning their dictatorial authority.
I bought an ebook from Taylor and Francis almost one year ago, and today have been dealing with an aggressive person from Informa asking me to pay for the ebook a second time as they said the payment (that I paid, last November) was returned to me, which it was not (I have checked my bank statements). This incredibly stressful experience has wasted much of my time today, and remains unresolved. I would never buy from Taylor and Francis again. They seem super scammy.
UPDATE: the company has now put this right by refunding the payment with a compensation for their error which I do appreciate. My credit card did not work on their site so I used my debit card instead. Big mistake! They took an additional unauthorised payment from my current account, 2 months on they have admitted their 'technical error' and promised to refund the money. As of today they still have not done so. Do not buy from this organisation.
Another aggregator for online resources that is so utterly dismal- always crashes, unexpected errors and logs you out of the system after about 10 minutes of reading. No one is really that bothered about your incredibly dead and dry academic writing, make your interface user friendly
My order from December 13 still has not arrived, even though I paid for fast delivery. Why? Beacuse they did not provide the transport company with full contact information I entered. They seem to know very little about running an international e-shop. Won't be oredering again!
Ordered and paid for an ebook. Can't access the download. Thats because they refer you to a company called Vitalsource. Vitalsource won't let you create an account unless you accept their cookies. They offer you a choice as to opt in or opt out. If you opt out you don't get an account so can't get your purchase.
