Review of economist

Good articles, but think twice before subscribing.

The content is good, but after being a subscriber for a year I am going back to buying single issues at the newsstand. The reason is simply that their entire sales strategy is not customer focused at all. There is no cancellation button online, like you would expect for any subscription service in 2021; instead, they funnel you through a process with customer reps trained in how to upsell and retain clients by offering deals and discounts. My advice for anyone trying to cancel is to simply tell them "Thanks, but I would like to proceed with my cancellation" to anything they might say for the most painless and effective experience. Once you try to justify WHY you are trying to cancel, you will be spending time trying to deal with arguments crafted by their sales teams (and just to make it clear, I do not blame the reps here who are probably evaluated based on how many clients they can keep from leaving). It leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I would not recommend The Economist based on this experience.

unhappy about the lack of transparency about price and about customer service

I had to pay clearance fee to get my order from PostNL. This was not communicated in any way on the website during ordering.I am not an importer. I order a product online and expect to be informed about the total cost, or to receive a warning with an indication of the expected costs.I wrote Alibaba that the solution I would be happy with:"This was my first order via Alibaba.com. I am unhappy about the lack of transparency about the price. Alibaba.com can solve my problem by reimbursing me the customs clearance fee of €9.87, and by warning buyers about additional costs in the future."The reaction was "Regarding your issue, here is the proposed solution: Please kindly note that the responsibility for import duties based on your agreement with the supplier and the terms of trade you have selected.Therefore, normally, you are responsible for customs clearanceThank you for your understanding and cooperation"When i reacted that my problem was not with the supplier but with Alibaba, they answered with exact the same text. (order # 257403738501027822)

Facebook marketplace is a very good platform to sell goods, but beware!My sale was accepted by a Facebook profile but ended up to be a financial scam. It involved Alex Cuevo and a financial business bank called WISE.They claimed to have paid money into my bank and requested that I follow their instructions to return overpayment. BE WISE and do not ever give your bank details to the buyer, until they have confirmed the name of their bank. Also be aware of the risk of scammers, if they are from overseas. They are the worst customer support I…

They are the worst customer support I dealt with. They keep closing my tickets/cases without reaching out to me, they don't solve anything, they just ignore your emails, or they send generated emails like bots. They say the issue would be solved in less than 2 days but they don't respond for 2 months. I submitted more than 20 tickets but no help from this awful support. I wish they get fired. I wish I could report each specific person. I would give minus 5, they don't deserve even 1 star.

Can't respond to offensive comments to your comments

If you make a comment or respond to what you believe is an unreasonable or untrue comment you are through unless you stay on the story and wait it out. Then you find that other people's comments to your comments start popping up on the screen and they've eliminated the ability to respond to what are mostly ridiculous responses even if they appear not to meet MSN's guidelines. You can't even contact MSN.
