Adafruit tramples on Open-Hardware etiquette but claims to be a blessing for the maker community

We sell products compatible to Adafruit products, and we have a statement (email to me) from Adafruit that it would be allowed to call our own products for example "compatible to Neopixel" or "Adafruit Neopixel compatible". Adafruit's Limor Fried is bigmouthing about how great they do for the Open-Hardware and Open-Source community, but on the other hand they keep opening intellectual property infringement claims on Amazon against our products, and have our products removed, risking our reputation and Amazon account health, despite the clear description of our products to be "compatible with Neopixel library for Arduino", for example. The only reason for this acting is, that Adafruit wants to sell their own, big time overpriced products, and fights other sellers of equal hardware. Limor if you don't want that other companies make the same products and say that their products are compatible to your's, then just change the license you use. To take somebody else's product (WS2812B LEDs), and give it your own brand name, and then fight everyone who mentions the compatibility with your product, is effrontery.

Review of homeadvisor

Quoted price was not honored without a fight

I was quoted a price with 2 discounts and was later told the one discount did not apply. After hours with customer service they finally agreed to honor the quoted price. I was told the old water heater tank would be removed. The contractor said he did not do that. Home Advisor wanted another fee to get rid of the tank. I expected to have parts added to the amount charged by Home Advisor when the job was finished but was not told that I would have to pay the contractor directly for parts. I was told that the contractor would pick up a new heater from Home Depot, which he did, but I was not told that there would be a $100 fee for doing so. Overall, very poor communications and misleading information from sales and customer service.

Review of facebook

Bye bye Facebook

Facebook used to be a place to keep up to date with my community of friends and relatives, to learn about events, happenings and occurrences...Unfortunately, Facebook is now a place of adverts, suggested groups, suggested friends, suggestions galore, and more adverts, with maybe 1 in 100 posts being that of a friend or relative, adverts in the notification area, adverts in messenger, adverts on videos that I never ever see because I'm watching the video...! The thing is, so many people I know now don't use Facebook because of the adverts, the suggestions and the lack of visibility of friends & family. Then there are the hackers, the hijackers, the ones that spend seconds so incredibly easily stealing people's accounts, but the owners of the accounts then find it almost impossible to get them back...! I've not known one person that has had there account stolen get it back, not one. The fact that I know several people that have even had their accounts stolen is disgusting...! Why Facebook...? Why do you enable, allow and make it so incredibly easy for the hackers & hijackers to steal people's accounts, but then impossible for the owners to get them back...? Yeh, you have links and pages that are supposed to help, but they don't work...! Once the account has been stolen the hackers & hijackers change everything...!!!Facebook is broken and it breaks a little more as time goes by, people are leaving and Facebook is failing. It's like a bucket of water with thousands of holes, all covered with sticking plasters, over varying amounts of time, each plaster fails and a little more water leaves the bucket, another way to deliver an advert, another account stolen, another suggestion or another member lost = a further sticking plaster lost & another hole exposed, all until the bucket is empty...Can it be repaired...? No, I don't think so, unfortunately.Bye bye Facebook.

HEAVILY MANIPULATED BY RUSSIA.

HEAVILY MANIPULATED BY RUSSIA.The platform is rife with the most awful and extreme hate groups but worst of all, Russian state 'groups'. They post AI generated content and then spam users who like it with anti US/EU propaganda.I'm addition they have a ton of groups that are pro US/UK. The US groups agitate people by saying "I don't know about you but I pay taxes for veterans, not for student loans". The UK ones show a picture of London in the 1920's with the caption "Back when Britain was British".Its an obvious attempt to subvert, manipulate and coerce the racist types. If you report these groups to Meta, no matter how you report it they come back with 'we didn't do anything about this".You'd think for a company that has been in front of several government bodies for different ilks of manipulation and corruption that they may police their platform better.Facebook will be dead within a year, dominated by bots led by Russia.

I was using my trial you see

I was using my trial you see. Now I am glad I didn't pay for it. What happened was I got three quarters of my data backed up, and then their system gave me an error.Contacted support, they said I had to cancel and start over. So another three days just to back up my data.Their privacy statement is suspect too. I set my own backup backup password just to be safe.Yeah, It's unlimited backup but they don't care about you or your data. If you read their official statements they say, yeah, we lose money, but we make it up on users who do not use their accounts. One word : terrible.
