Horrible battery and charger on the laptop

Bought a Republic of Gamers g751 laptop for using it at work for rendering and simulation purposes. The laptop came and the battery did not want to charge. Returned the laptop for repairs and they changed the battery with a new one after 12 days. 1 year later, 2 weeks after battery warranty expired the battery dies again. Send it for repairs and this time both mother board and battery are dead, changed for new ones. This on a laptop that is 1300 dollars. And of course the battery is not user serviceable, meaning that if something like this happens again I will have to send it again for repairs. Oh and warranty of the battery was 1 year, after changing with a new one it became 3 months...I will never buy an asus laptop again.

Disappointment! I trusted in ABE BOOKS and AWESOME BOOKS and was wronged.In the last two months I bought 68 books from different bookstores and private collections from several countries, research material for an important work. I didn't know AWESOME and when I got to know its work policy (book donations, literacy projects, etc.) I was immediately enchanted by that company (in my Instagram account there's even a Stories with lots of praise and recommendations for that brand).So, even finding cheaper deals, I stopped buying several books from other bookstores to buy at AWESOME.Even with the limitations of the Covid pandemic, I had no problems with the delivery of books from other suppliers (Amazon, Ebay, Book Depository, Desnivel, Cultura, Central Libreria, Librairie Colibrio, etc.), always receiving books before the deadline from Spain, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, USA, France, among other countries – even books that were shipped from all over the world to an “order handler” in the US and then sent to me.However, unfortunately, only with AWESOME I had problems (and with ABE, due to a partnership between both companies).Several AWESOME books were delayed (this week alone there are three more that should arrive at the latest on 11/26 and so far nothing) and some never arrived.I was always very understanding and patient. However, instead of sending me the books I didn't receive, they just offered me a refund of the amount paid, generating more work (new research in search of the best prices, bureaucratic procedures to repeat each purchase, months to receive each copy, etc.) and I was not always able to buy the same lost title again, as I had bought it with promotional discounts and later such books already had a much higher value.I understand that books can sometimes be lost during shipping, but I think it's unfair that I paid a price for a product and that I fulfilled all my obligations as a customer and in the end end up without a satisfactory solution to my loss due to a mistake made by the company.The worst situation occurred with a copy of great importance for my studies that I bought at ABE, but which would be delivered by AWESOME.They refunded me U$ 14.02 (promotional value on the day of my purchase), but the lowest value I find today on the ABE and AWESOME websites would be US$ 91.82 (not counting the high transcontinental shipping cost). And the other offers I had found on the internet months ago no longer exist.In other words, an unfeasible value for my budget after so many investments - I live in Brazil and unfortunately the import of books to my country is something almost prohibitive for most Brazilians due to inflation and the high dollar.STORY BRIEF: Although ABE and AWESOME have this book in their stocks, I will be without my product (which I need so much) as these companies refuse to send me the copy I had purchased.Be alert for new buyers from other countries who are thinking of buying books from these companies!

Never buy from Asus again

The computer stops working about a year after warranty. I only use it for school and occasional gaming. Then it stops powering on. Nothing I do can get it to work. When I called them, they told me just the diagnostic is $85. Plus the $20 in shipping. So that’s already $100 down. Then they said they would charge me for repairs and parts. THIS WAS a $1,600 laptop. It shouldn’t break after a year and half!

Terrible Experience, Zero Accountability

It’s amazing (in the worst way possible) that you can speak to a live person at Kraken who has absolutely no ability to help you. My account has been stuck in “Service Limited” status for over 48 hours with no explanation and zero resolution. I’ve submitted multiple requests asking why my account is restricted, and not one has been answered with any clarity. Ticket Number 16685825Kraken had no issue accepting my wire transfer – they took my funds without delay. But now that I want to move my money? Suddenly everything is “pending” with no transparency, no timeline, and no actual support. The customer service team is clueless and clearly reading from scripts. I even received an email saying they would follow up with more communication. That was days ago. Still nothing.This is not a secure or responsive platform. If you're relying on Kraken for any timely transactions, especially for business or investment, prepare for major delays and frustration. Terrible service. Zero accountability. Avoid if you value access to your own money.

IKEA cancelled my order - 14days later, £139 refund has still not been actioned

I placed an order and paid for next day delivery, IKEA changed it to a date which wasn’t convenient, I called and they changed it back to the original date. It didn’t arrive, I called and they changed it to another date , an hour after this call IKEA cancelled my order. That was 28/01/25, despite calling on three separate occasions (plus the two to sort the delivery date), I have not received my refund, it is the 11th February. I was told during one call that it needs to be actioned and then it takes 14 days after that time to refund. Another person told me I would receive it urgently. It was IKEA who cancelled it, not me so I would have expected an automatic refund. The amount is £139 (£124 plus £15 gift voucher), so it’s not a small amount. I have waited between 10-34 minutes for the phone to be answered when I have called. Clearly a really poor system of returning money to customers.

Absolute garbage support and crappy UI

Absolute garbage support. Dont know anything about nameserver registration process when same domain is used. For example, when setting ns1.example.com nameserver for example.com domain, the nameserver must be registered first before using it. Otherwise it will not show any DNS records. This is called glue record. Instead, the support added an A record in bluehost(not using bluehost nameservers) and set custom nameservers. DNS zone in the server was already ready in the VPS. All they had to do was register the nameservers. UI glitches all across. Changed nameservers and re-logged in to account because dns never propagated. Saw the old nameservers. Updated it again and waited. Re-logged in and still old record popped up

Excellent Colour E-Reader

I wanted a new e-reader with a colour screen, after moving from my small and outdated tablet (which was also pretty harsh on the eyes!) - after looking into my options, the Kobo was the obvious choice.Compact, with a large amount of storage and super user friendly from the start, this little guy comes with me everywhere now. I've been able to read my comics and my books on here with zero issue, and able to make notes. I'm also so pleased to see I'm able to load my PDF and CBZ files onto this e-reader too, so I haven't lost any of the content from my previous tablet.This is also such great value for money, with other colour e-readers charging significantly more, while Kobo keeps it fair with that same awesome high quality and decent colours to read my graphic novels on.

Holiday Inn Experience

We chose to stay here for a romantic weekend getaway. We were excited about the jacuzzi in the room and the unique pool. Shortly after we arrived, we found out the hotel was not quite as it seemed. Our shower seal was broken. When we showered, it flooded the bathroom. They did not have another jacuzzi room available, so we could not change rooms. We asked for a discount. Since we secured the hotel with a 3rd party, they could only give us IHG points. After several attempts, we could not get IHG rewards to work. The hotel gave us the number for IHG rewards. The representative put us on hold for over 90 minutes before giving up. During this time, we learned that IHG rewards track everything, including amazon purchases. As far as cleanliness goes, the hotel is not very clean. The pool area had wrist bands lying on the floor from the day before. Also, the pool was overcrowded, and the hot tub was filled with unsupervised children. Not one single adult was in the hot tub. The workout room was nasty. It looked as if the floor had not been swept in weeks. There were also dirty towels lying around. These towels were no longer white but tan and covered in filth. The bosu in the workout room was flat and unusable. Our room appeared clean with a freshly made bed and simply folded towels. Typically, hotels leave a pen, a pad of paper, a TV channel guide, and a do not disturb sign. We did not receive any of those. We noticed that the headboard to the bed was super dusty. It makes us wonder how thoroughly they cleaned the room. The continental breakfast was ok. It had a pancake maker that made two pancakes in a minute (super cool). We were surprised to see the hotel did not offer oatmeal as an option. The dining area was not clean. We had to ask someone to clean the tables to have a place to eat. Before they cleaned the table, they said, “IHG no longer requires us to wipe down the tables between each use, so we don’t normally do that.” With COVID on the rise, this is very unsettling. The worst part of the stay was when we got home. We were charged $250 for “urinating” in the bed. We DID NOT do that. When we called to inquire about the charges, we were dismissed. They would say they would contact us in a specific time frame but did not. Eventually, we received pictures and an itemized charge. They charged us for every piece of linen in the room, including the pool towels. We spilled some chocolate on the sheets, but that is all. Before leaving the room, we stripped the bed for housekeeping. We also placed the towels on the bed because we didn’t know what to do with them. Some of the towels were soaked from cleaning up the flood in the bathroom. We forgot about them being in the lump of towels. That is probably where the “urine” stain was from. This would not have happened if the shower had worked in the first place. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s certainly not worth the price we paid. The pool looks super nice, but it is not worth going through everything we did to use it. All we wanted was a stress-free weekend to ourselves. We did not get it.
