AMEX SKYMILES & AMEX PLATINUMI had my Amex SkyMiles account setup to send me 2 reminders when my payments are due: one week in advance and the day before. My payment had been due on the 7th of every month and Amex? They were sending me reminders on the 9th of every month. This resulted in late fees and interest and eventually an inablity to make payments. I reached out to Amex long before it got to the point of being unable to make payments, and they refused to help me. I will admit, I am very bad about looking at my statements because I just pay the bounce and get on with my day. But, when I happened to do so, I saw a ton of late fees at $40 a pop. I utilized a service offered by Amex to be sure that my payments were made on time. I believe they knowingly sent me reminders that my payments were due after the due date in order to charge me fees. Even after showing them screenshots of the payment reminders they denied any wrongdoing and refused to give me more than one months fees back. I picture them being like Leonardo DiCaprio and his “employees” in the wolf of wall street - hosing people and laughing about it. *high five*I have screenshots of the payment reminders and the conversation between myself and each customer service rep regarding the issue. After even worse debauchery with my Amex Platinum in which my asking if they could lower the annual $695 fee and please send a replacement card because I lost mine resulted in them giving me a green card and lowering the balance so much that even my opening a Capital One card to transfer $2500 of the balance would no longer even bring me below my spending limit, I stopped paying. They closed the Platinum account AND the AirMiles account but continued to take 2 PAYMENTS a month out of my checking account for the AirMiles card AFTER I sent a certified letter telling them not to. I had Chase bank at the time and Chase bank sided with Amex. Go figure. So I closed that account as well. And, by the way, where are all the air miles I racked up?I filed a complaint with the CFPB and the BBB. Amex was kind enough to offer me $20. Amex, like every other credit card company, trains its employees to talk you in circles and gaslight you until you give up. My credit score, which took me years to clean up after a divorce has once again plummeted. The head honchos of these companies sit in their cushy offices collecting money while laughing at said companies’ customers being raked over the coals. Tell me, what are the consequences for these thieves/crooks/low lives/loan sharks wrapped up in an elitist package?

When contacted, I was told that "The images on our website are intended as a guide only" and they don't know what version will ship. Disappointing, but I can understand that. The real frustration was when I requested to return since it was not the version I thought I was buying, my only option was to pay to ship it back - which would have cost almost as much as the book itself. I will definitely not be buying again.

Recording said estimated hold was 15 minutes. After 20 minutes, it range as though I was being transferred; only to get to another recording asking me to continue holding. 8 Minutes later, it rang again several times like I as being transferred again. Only to hear a recording (different voice) telling me all agents were helping other customers and to call back later and then the line hung up. Thanks for wasting my 30 minutes for nothing.
