AVOID or get out while you can!

This is a very shady, greedy company and seem to be quite comfortable with trying to pull a fast one on their customers. We originally decided we wanted to go on a city break to Italy, I said let's try something different and go on a cruise to Italy instead. We have never been on one before and decided RC is the best for us since we're in our 20s and wanted the fun, casual atmosphere. We looked at RC last week, saw an 8 night western Mediterranean fly-cruise departing from Barcelona and then visiting France and Italy. We doubled checked everything on the website, both happy to proceed, booked it and then received an email confirmation immediately. We also booked the flights to Barcelona at the same time with a separate company. We decided to check the summary PDF they sent us the day after just to confirm everything, the itinerary was wrong - it said instead of Sardinia (Italy) we are going to Ibiza (Spain). We both decided this must be incorrect on the email as our Western Mediterranean cruise is now just a visit to France and then back to Spain again. Contacted them immediately over email, had no reply (and still waiting!). I had enough of waiting and decided to call them earlier today. I explained the website is still advertising Italy for our cruise a week later, yet the email says Ibiza. The agent I spoke to admitted the website was displaying false information and that they offer their apologies and it has been reported to be changed. I asked what the next steps would be regarding compensation or actions to make things right (on-board credit, refunds, free room upgrade etc). The advisor placed me on hold for a while to speak to their resolutions department. The resolutions department said they won't offer anything except their apologies.I told the agent that it is against the law to display false information and not offer a refund or form of compensation after admitting an error. I said I wished to take this further and when the agent went to make queries the call cut off (This was after an hour but it did seem like an actual technical problem). I decided to do some quick research. The cruise is ABTA protected, the law suggests they acted illegally and their own T&C's say I'm entitled to a refund of any money paid including deposit. I called back, explained that they can't break the law and just offer an apology. I also mentioned their own T&C's which state I'm entitled to a refund. The agent spoke to the resolutions team again and magically they offered a full refund of any fees paid. Their policy says you only have 14 days to notify them if an itinerary is wrong so I decided to take the cancellation and run for the hills. We already had the non-refundable flights booked but we decided to take the hit rather giving a single penny to such a scummy company.Make sure you do your research before you book. It may seem cheap on the website but they're purposely very unclear about what's included in your price. You MUST pay a mandatory £12 per person, per day 'service charge'. This is because RC doesn't pay crew minimum wage so this money is collected and divided amongst all staff to pay them. This is a disgusting practice for both the staff and passengers. A family of 4 would pay nearly £50 a day just for this, now imagine its a two week cruise...Other charges we should have researched before booking: the WIFI and the drinks. The WiFi is £10 per day, per device. I do understand it probably is expensive to offer an internet service in the middle of the ocean but again, imagine a family of four paying for this. The drinks are probably the biggest hidden charge for first-time cruisers. Neither of us drink alcohol so the unlimited soda drinks package was £10 a day each, still not ideal but it's affordable. If you drink alcohol then you may want to consider drinking mouthwash instead. They charge FIFTY POUNDS, yes FIFTY pounds per day, EACH for unlimited alcoholic and soft drinks. This would be an extra £400 each for 8 nights. You must both buy the same package and cannot share or take your own alcohol with you - unless you've got money to burn you may want to consider something else.So after the bare essentials like fizzy drinks, WiFI and the mandatory staff wages charge, that's an extra £256 each. If you drink alcohol it'll probably cost more than the cruise itself. We decided to cut our losses on the flights and either book a TUI all-inclusive cruise where the price you pay is for EVERYTHING or just fly to Rome and avoid a cruise with this god awful sly company. Just to be clear, the itinerary on the website is still incorrect and all the poor passengers who booked still think they're going to Italy on their summer holi-bobs. Also, the cruise apparently stops in Toulon. It doesn't, it stops in the middle of nowhere an hour and half away. God I hope this company goes bust.

I purchased ikea products from the Costa Mesa store. Fortunately, I had the same Ikea delivery man, Estefan, twice in a few weeks. This gentleman was so amazing and extremely professional and exceedingly helpful. He definitely went above and beyond in helping an older lady, like myself. Estefan should be promoted and be training all of your other delivery men. He is an asset to your company and should be commended. I will definitely choose Ikea again because of how kind and helpful Estefan was in my delivery. Nancy Scholar

Review process

I had logged into the Angi website to write a review and was apparently directed to the HomeAdvisor website to write the review. I completed the review but wasn't allowed to post the review because I hadn't logged into HomeAdvisor. I had to log into HomeAdvisor and rewrite my review. This process could be better.

IHG loyalty counts for nothing and worst possible service

After being a happy and loyal customer to IHG for 17 years, it would appear they do not care for my loyalty of customer. On taking the advice of Crowne Plaza Zurich I called Central Reservations 5 times and when I informed them i wanted to make a complaint about my IHG credit card being double charged I was cut off automatically 5 times. I then tried to use Virtual Concierge at Spire elite member and was 64 in the queue. IHG not interested in loyalty or custom and i think my experience had provided beyond all doubt

Charged on autorenewal for…

Charged on autorenewal for subscription, cancelled straight away and contacted support to be told that they won't refund. I thought UK distance selling laws covered me for this, surely they have to follow the 14 day cooling off period and refund money. I won't be using their products again, seems like loads of people are leaving them now as there are plenty of alternative products out there now

Product was very good; service was professional

Product was very good. I inadvertently bought a subscription (I normally spot these, but not in this case). Tom at Dreamstime was professional, quick and considerate in cancelling charges I had not meant to incur. So, very good service.

Awful service

ASOS Customer Care is one of the retail industries worse service provider. Not only was I promised something on 24th December and it took over 12 chats and 6 emails to get it rectified they clearly outsource their customer service as the service is misaligned to their brand. Robotic responses, not reading previous history, no natural empathy. Going forward will always choose to buy directly from the brands where I can. They may have good discounts, premier delivery and really quick and efficient delivery, as soon as something goes wrong good luck trying to get it rectified!

Cant speak to anyone regarding returns or complaints (tried Head Office) just chatline which is mainly AI very poor customer service he is so disappointed. As am I.When I said I was really disappointed I got "No Worries I'll Leave as Feedback " think the No worries was inappropriate and really annoying.

Review of newscientist

Potential Subscribers Beware!

Thought it might be a good idea to subscribe to New Scientist. Filled in the web order form and promptly received a confirmation email stating that I now have access to newscientist.com and all I’d had to do was set a password. As I tried this several times without success I called the customer service. Without really getting through to one of their staff I was told to wait until I’d receive a web order number which would we issued within 48 hrs. Subsequently I haven’t heard from them for a week when they asked me to provide information already known to them, such as the email address they had just sent the message to. This was the moment I wondered what would happen if I’d ever run into problems with my subscription and I decided that having a subscription was not that much of an idea. So I cancelled the subscription within de 14 day period and revoked permission to charge my credit card. I did this by email according to the information NS provides on the internet. Two days later I received a message in which they announced that my subscription had now been activated, thus ignoring my cancellation. Not being amused, I let them know that I’d proceed with my cancellation and stressed that they no longer have permission to charge my credit card. Ten days passed without notice form NS when I was informed that they could not accept cancellations by email. This is, however, not what they state on their website. At the same time my credit card was charged for the subscription fee, which, in the light of my order cancellation, comes down to theft. So, potential New Scientist subscribers beware! You will be dealing with incompetent and ignorant staff at the so called ‘customer service’ department. New Scientist is a great magazine but I suppose you’d be better off purchasing single issues at your local newsstand, in spite of the costs.
