Trying to change the plan

I have been trying to switch my plan from post-paid to pre-paid for a few days now. I purchased a $300 pre-paid SIM card. Went to the website to activate it. But when trying to use my existing post-paid number, it says that because I already have a Telstra number, I need to message them! One would think that Telstra to Telstra should be easier, but that's not the case.So I messaged them. After three hours of chatting to different people, they told me to go to a store! I went to store which asked me to come back next morning and wait in a queue. Now I'm waiting in their phone queue and the machine says Iā€Œ have to wait 45 minute. All for just changing a plan! Makes no sense.
