I am a uk host . Recently got a last minute 2 day booking for my house. Guest was new to VRBO but I assumed the I’d had been verified. Guest checked out 2 days later having thrown a massive drugs party. House totally trashed, doors ripped off hinges, thousands of pounds worth of damage. Reported to VRBO but they are not responding to me at all . Their vetting / verification of this guest failed me and they are not willing to engage with me at all. No level of damage deposit I could have reasonable charged the guest would have covered the damage caused. VRBO simply don’t care . I will have to pursue them through court for their lack of vetting on this guest. So frustrating using their system , impossible to actually speak to anyone who will deal with my case. Avoid avoid avoid this company .
