I have had an online account for 20 years and order periodically. Recently I ordered some items and after pick up I realized I needed to return one of the items. I went to the store and while at customer service the refund was $3.00 less for the item. I had my iphone with me so the clerk could swipe the bar code from my e mail for the return. When he could not determine why the computer refunded a lower amount I told him I would pull up the order on my phone. In order to do that I had to sign into my account. When I did that the order came up and then the Target site closed and I could not open it again. I never use my phone to order on Target. When I got home I found out I was locked out of my Target account on my desktop. I called Target to see what the issue was and the rep told me I had tried signing in more than 5 times. I told her that was not the case that I had signed in at Target and was then locked out and tried once at home. I escalated the issue to a supervisor and they researched it. They found that because I had used a device that they did not recognize that the security system locked my account. I told them to unlock it but they wanted me to reset my password. I told them I would not reset my password. If they wanted to keep me as a customer they needed to fix this issue. They told me they would have someone contact me but that was 2 weeks ago. I have sent them an e mail to close my account and do not plan to shop at Target in the future.
