I just attempted to cancel an order that I placed at 3 hours ago on Target.com. I was amazed to find out that when an order is preparing to ship it is unable to be canceled, despite Target being the company preparing to ship the item. Instead, I should wait for an email saying that my order has shipped and then call the company back to cancel it. It's a narrow window and there is no estimate of timeline. Why is this the process? It is both frustrating and environmentally unsound.
