Squarespace has become more rigid over time; particularly with 7.1 sites. Ultimately, you have to be 100% satisfied with the defaults or you are completely without a paddle. Makes it a difficult choice for sites that requires some extensibility. Their support is quite poor. Their cookie-cutter approach may make things simple, but you have to ask yourself; "is it worth locking myself in". IMO - the answer is 'no'.
