I have a group Mediterranean cruise booked for August 2023 with Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas and I have to say how disappointed I am in how they operate their groups department. I have 15 rooms booked & paid for in my group and neither of us was able to make any payments online or book flights online through the RC Air2Sea. RC doesn’t treat group bookings the same as we have to call and speak to a live agent whenever we want to do anything regarding our booking. The problem with this set up is that RC’s booking department phone lines are only open Monday through Friday till 7pm and on Saturday they phone lines close earlier and Sunday phone lines are closed all day. If you have a reservation in a group booking and call RC’s 24/7 phone line the reps tell you they are unable to service you because you are booked in a group. The regular 24/7 phone line can not even take a payment for your booking if your reservation is in a group booking. Now if RC’s group department have limited phone line hours why not at least allow their regular 24/7 to be able to service you as needed. This set up frustrated everyone in the group especially me as the group leader. This means if you booked in a group then you have limitations on accessing information to your booking. This is unfair and I hope other cruise lines do not operate like this because I do not plan on booking any groups with RC ever again because of this difficult set up. It is an annoying and unreasonable set up that should be modified to assist all customers 24/7 not just customers that booked outside of a group. It is an unfair way to handle business especially when group bookings bring in a lot of money for the cruise lines.
