The prices of the top end models have gone through the roof, up on £500!Took a look, became irritated - I don’t care about sculpted handles, wet shaving or gadgets and accessories. Trying to find a no-nonsense decent quality mid-price model was going to involve more research/hassle than I could be bothered with. And then there are the reviews consistently saying “Not as good as they used to be’, ‘won’t hold a charge’ and ‘feels cheap’. Apparently, too, these newer models require a great deal of maintenance. Boring, time-consuming levels of maintenance. And the cheaper models look cheap, tempting you up the range to silly prices, whereupon, at £200-500 for an electric shaver, I just get up and walk away.Philips has completely lost the plot. Whatever I choose, it won’t be a Philips, even though it is a Philips I’ve used for nearly 40 years.
