We have switched to Odoo as our company ERP system. What we quickly realized is that very standard things are done differently in Odoo and simple changes can be very difficult. Best examples are their invoice templates that look pretty terrible and there is no guidance on how to adapt them. They probably do this on purpose so you need to buy one of their Success Packages to customize your solution. Ok, that´s part of their business model and we accepted that, even though you can only buy full packages of many hours even though you only require small adjustments. We bought it from Odoo directly which was a mistake since the person that took care of it was little qualified. Making small changes on a report template for invoices and quotations used up the entire EUR 2500 budget. We were still ok with that. What we are not ok with is that after the last Upgrade, all the changes disappeared and Odoo told us, we need to buy another Success Package to re-implement them. They say this is standard in SaaS solutions. We told them about the issues before the Upgrade, the told us we are required to run the upgrade anyway because it is mandatory, and now they want to charge us again for things they broke or didn´t implement correctly in the first place. And we will probably have to pay again after the next Upgrade in 6 months. I call this a scam and recommend everyone to not choose Odoo, or at least not the Cloud version. The customer service is very poor and their business model questionable.
