Bought 2 third gen nests to replace my 1st gen as I wanted the hot water feature. Arranged for a nest approved installer who came and installed them. Found out later that he did not install the hot water element of the device contacted the installer and the engineer both of which said it was my fault because I should have been specific and instead of asking for it to be installed I should have said can you install the heating and water cables to the 3rd gen. I have spent £280 for the nests and another £180 for installation and will need to spend another £180 to get them installed properly. If I knew this I would never have bought them, what a waste and nest support are useless they have no interest in solving the problem. One even tried to convince me I had a combi boiler when I dont to justify why it wasn't installed.
