Yesterday morning the met office next-day forecast for Dalgety Bay displayed bright sunshine (all suns) the whole day. This morning we have lightening with loud thunder and a downpour of rain. As expected, the met office changed the forecast accordingly as they do all the time. Getting it badly wrong is no longer the exception. What is the point of a weekly forecast when we cannot even get the following day forecast right? The met office changes its forecast continuously so that a day's prior forecast is unlikely to be the same as on the actual day. Screenshots of next-day forecasts make this glaringly clear and make 7-day forecasting meaningless. It's impossible to make any outdoor planning in advance due to weather forecasting inaccuracies and, for me, it's been a case of, well, I'll just have to wait and see 'what tomorrow brings'.
