wow, that was an interesting excersise with mcafee tyhis afternoon, in the midst of doing end of year accounts, 3 alerts popped up on my screen sahying danger of a trojan horse and that my account had expired today, fearful to loose all my work, i pressed the button to renew for 29.99 for 1 device . with a bit of clarity i suddenly thought it night have been a scam, so quick call to amex, and then paypal , and also i checked my actual mcafee account and it doesnt expire til next january. something then catches my eye that on the mcafee account that this charge is actually on my account, immediately above where it tells me i already have cover til January 2024. , it was actually mcafee and not a scam, WHen i called them, the lady had no explaination as to why it happened, just very insistent that i should roll it over into next years subscription, absolutely not. i have received an email confirming the refund. But this is a scam by the very people that are supposed to be protecting us from scammers !!! exactly the same tactics, and fraudulent !
