I decided to download a McAfee Virus Scanner. I got a one year premium subscription for $116.90. It never did load. Their technicians tried to fix it, but couldn't. So, I told them that I wanted to cancel the virus scanner if it wouldn't load on my computer. They told me that I needed to call and order Asurion Home Plus Service and that they would come to my house, or do it remotely, and clean my computer so that the McAfee Virus Scanner could then be loaded onto my computer, which I did. I called Asurion and asked if I could make an appointment for a technician to come to my house or do it remotely and clean it and the guy there said that they don't come to house and that I would have to bring it there. I said it is a PC, I am a senior citizen, and I don't want to have to bring it in. So, I said that I wanted to cancel my subscription for $27.05. The next thing I knew they had switched me back to McAfee and their technician tried to download the Virus Scanner again for 2 hours. She was unsuccessful. By then I had been on the phone for this issue for several hours. She said that she would call me back at 5:00 am and then she would get Asurion on the line and try to get the technician to do it remotely. The next morning, I got up early, turned on the computer, and waited for her phone call. She never called. By 8:00 am, I called McAfee and told them that I had had it with their company and that I wanted to cancel my subscription. They asked if another technician could check it one more time. One and a half hours later, they finally admitted that they couldn't fix it and finally agreed to cancel my subscription. I called Asurion and cancelled that one too. At 1:30 pm, the technician that had promised to call me at 5:00 am called me back to see if I ever got my computer cleaned and the McAfee installed. I told her, "Thanks for not calling me at 5:00 am as you promised to." Then, I said, "No... but I did cancel both subscriptions, and never plan to use either company again. Such a frustrating couple of days.
