Our refrigerator is only a year and a half old and suddenly stopped working on September 23rd. We called LG and they told us that it is a manufacturers defect and that they will set up a service call along with extending the warranty to 5 years. Well it took us until Oct 10th to finally get an appointment with the Appliance repair. They came out after ordering the compressor left and the freezer worked but not the refrigerator itself so again it was back to LG and the appliance company only to be told they would now need to order the entire system and that would take 10 days. After calling both LG and the appliance company we were told that the part is on back order and they were not sure when they would get here. I called spoke to Customer Care and they put in a claim for either a refund or a new refrigerator which was denied do to the part finally arriving. We heard nothing more from LG after that. The repair was completed 2 days ago almost a month from the first and 48 hours later we now have no freezer or refrigerator. I have made countless calls to LG put on hold lied to and given the run around. I am now being told the claim was reprocessed and that we would need to wait another 5-7 days for an answer. The appliance co is telling us to call LG so that they can open yet another ticket so they can come back out. It is now almost 2 months and a ton of patience later. I am fed up and will now be sending a complaint into the BBB. To top it off we also bought and LG stove that I have had to repair twice and it is not covered under any type of warranty. So needless to say when they say LG life is good, it really means we will lie, keep you on hold, have the worst customer service and could give two s*&(^ less, we have your money and our life is golden without a care in the world. I will never purchase another LG product, they are the worst all around.
