Lenovo Thinkpad never again...

While I was in the US my notebook broke down I had the luxurious experience to work with a 4 year old IBM notebook. I was so impressed by the quality that when I finally had to replace my old notebook I wanted a Thinkpad and nothing else. Unfortunately IBM had sold everything to Lenovo, and well, I read good reviews so I ordered a T400. Nothing was comparable to the old IBM Thinkpad. The plastic is cheap and bends, parts are sloppy assembled and move, the keyboard was nothing in comparison to the original, even Dell has better keyboards and that for half the price. I was very disappointed.
But after 2.5 years my disappointment has turned into true frustration. The ventilator works so badly that my hands start aching when I type for more than 15 minutes, as the entire mashine turns into a heating pad. After 1.5 years I had to replace the ventilator because it broke, no change with the new one. Several keys do no longer work properly which makes typing a nightmare. The upper mouse keys do no longer work, the sound is crappy and low and sometimes it doesn't work, seems like there is a loose contact somewhere. The battery was down after one year just on time for the warantee period expiring. So in total this notebook has no better quality than the average notebook has, problem is it costs double the price, so the conclusion is, it's simply not worth the money.
