Kroger Sells Bad Check, differs blame, blows off customer.

Kroger is making a lot of money off the most helpless people. Kroger will gladly sell you a Money Order for $600.cash in one town, then refuse to cash it at a Kroger in the next town. Wal Mart won't take Krogers' W.U. Money Orders either. Unless you have a bank willing to cash it, you're stuck with a Bad Check. Face it, very few people who need an emergency Money Order have a bank account. If there was time or you have an account with a bank, you would use a bank check in the first place. If you send money to the homeless relative who needs food now, or emergency car tow/repair, stranded and need a bus ticket, or like situation: DO NOT USE KROGER MONEY ORDERS! KROGER THEMSELVES WILL NOT CASH THEM! (btw- our credit was "fair to good" all the time, which shouldn't matter as we bought their check with our cash. Kroger credit may be in the ditch.I know it is with me.) What happened to me is emergency $ for Derby Party/bills from my brother, got here in time in Sat. mail, then Kroger here turns us away and I couldn't cash it til the next Monday at the bank (luckily). Then, if it comes back bad again, it's all on the person cashing it to pay back the $600. to the bank and Kroger keeps the CASH you bought the bad M.O. with. We would be out $1200. if the bank came back on us, all just so Kroger can keep the $600. Thank God the bank cashed it for me just because people there know my husband from school days. They know he would make good on it if it bounced. ~ NICE RACKET KROGER! BUT YOU CAN'T GET AWAY WITH IT FOREVER. My brother who was so kind to send me the $600. in the first place says he feels like a dumb-A for buying a check with cash just anywhere, in the first place, and he will trust no one less than the US Postal Service if he ever has to do that again. I'm left angry, embarrassed and with kids looking at me about the party foods I was supposed to come home with that day, for the Derby. I have late bills now. I'll bet my credit is not so good anymore. Then, I had to sweat for days over whether or not the bank was gonna come back on me if the check is still bad when they try to put it thru. So far so good on that. It should be so easy to check that the MO we're trying to cash was sold when and where and for the amount it says it was with a simple call to the other Kroger that sold it. But they refuse to help. The manager in our town is stuck like a broken record on diverting blame to this other company who need not even be involved for any reason. I consider it Krogers' responsibility when their own shel..I mean side co. says their Money Order is bad. It may not be illegal to sell bad paper the way Kroger spins it, but it certainly is criminal behavior on their part and says a lot about Co. character in general ~ KROGER! DON'T SELL CHECKS THAT YOU WILL NOT CASH!
