Kayak should vet companies on their site

I tried to book airfare 6 weeks out from Cincinnati to Honolulu and Orlando to Honolulu for my family. First fare I found was split with Delta and Kiwi. Within 12 hours of booking I got an email from Kiwi that Alaska Air had cancelled the flight, I might not get a full refund and it could take up to 3 months to get it. I checked the compare box on Kayak to see fares from Priceline, Flight Hall, Bestairfares.com and one other. I found a good fare on bestairfares.com from Orlando to Honolulu and booked it three days ago. I called a few hours later to ask about my E tickets or airline confirmation and was told it may take up to 72 hours. Called back after 72 hours and was told it will take another 24 hours. Sent two emails in between the phone calls and got no response. Tried to chat twice for 35 to 45 minutes each and never got an answer. If Kayak is going to use these travel sites for comparison then they should vet them and their customer service OR provide a disclaimer that we should expect little or no customer service from these cut rate travel sites. If Kayak allows them on their site they are endorsing them with the implication they can be trusted. Some of them obviously cannot be trusted.
