Good and trusted portal but problems with some forms of giving. As the person raising funds I found it very easy to set up a page and in my begging letters could easily post a link, and then after the event add photos and updates. It's such a well-known platform that all potential donors trust it and are happy to use it. However I had a number of people wanting to give from their family trust bank account, which has no bank card, or from their CAF account (ditto). CAF usues cheques, and others had to do a separate bank transfer. Giving for them and tracking of the gifts by me was cumbersome; I had to keep asking the charity to check whether they had received a cheque or bank transfer. The option on the justgiving page of using a bank transfer apparently doesn't work, or didn't for them. And then when I added in offline donations it wasn't clear to me how you indicated whether they were gift-aided (i.e. should the amount added be gross or net?), and in addition the number of supporters shown on my page does not increase, only the amount. Could you please look into these glitches, as I am sure I am not the first one to have raised them. Many thanks. Rosemary Yallop (Fund-raising for Exeter Cathedral via the Abseil)
