I reserved a room at the Holiday inn & suites at the JAX Jacksonville, Florida airport. I’m an ihg Platnium elite member who stays in their hotels often and have for several years. We checked in at 4:15pm dropped our bags off at the door and went to the pool. 2 hours later we went to the room which looked great until I turned on the standing lamp in the corner of the room. There were a pair of dirty socks sitting apart in the corner. I immediately called the front desk and spoke to Gary said he could only offer us another room which I didn’t want at this point. I wanted to cancel our reservation and go to another hotel because this city has some of the highest cases of COVID 19 in the country and it is imperative that rooms be cleaned thoroughly. I could no longer feel comfortable in this hotel. However, Gary showed absolutely no empathy and refused to cancel my reservation.I checked out 2 hours after checking and went to another hotel. Although, I will continue to use ihg hotels I will never go to this hotel again.
