Double charge

I booked for a last minute stay in a hotel that I needed to be near a particular location. I booked and paid with Apple Pay. In the morning the hotel asked me for the card used for the booking which I gave them. A few days later I noticed that my booking had been charged twice, once by booking.com and once by the hotel. On trying to get a refund for one of the charges both the hotel and booking.com have been useless. I'm now going to my bank to try and retrieve the extra charge. Crown Plaza in Hanger Lane was the hotel so bear this in mind if you book with Apple Pay through booking.com using an IHG hotel.
