I have been using IHG exclusively for many years but I think im going to switch to another brand. Many IHG hotels, specifically the best and most desirable ones no longer accept points for a booking or only accept them on certain days of the week. They have gotten bad about not issuing points and you have to call cs and beg for them. I recently couldn’t make it to my hotel and was unable to cancel. I didn’t even try to get out of paying for the room but they didn’t give me my points. Had to call and was told they don’t issue points if you don’t show up even though they still charge you full rate. Im just about done with them.
